Yer as far as i know he is,I think this year with all the players they have lost he could find him self back in the 1s. His a top bloke Abbs!!!!

Spoke to him recently and gut feel is he will play, not to keen like the rest of them.

He should play 1's considering the lack of players/ability they have...

Bear is it true you ended up back at South Morang coz nobody else would take you?

Almost true...
Not sure what you mean by ended up back there. Sure, I left 3 years ago to (try and) play Barlcay Shield at Bundoora , and returned the following season. Apart from that, I've never left Morang
What are you getting at?

Re: DVCA Money Shield

Blokes talk up players like Motschall, Waddingham, Wynham as great batsman, they all bat 5 or lowerer, runs below number 4 in this grade are cheap runs, nothing against these players personally but below four are the cheap seats for so called great batsman........cherry pickers i believe they are called!

WUNHYM won a Barclay Shield final series of his own bat when coming in at number 3 making 90 odd in both finals - genuine gun top order bat at his best, will be interesting to see how he goes this year.
He batted lower last year as him & troy - who bats 3 - tried to make sure one of them was in at most times to bat with the kids.

Flinders is capable of make good runs at any position in Money. You're entitled to your opinion, but I disagree.
If a club has enough decent bats in their top order, to ensure they have a particular type of batsmen in the shed after tea break, then they should. Its no secret that a side will make 2 or 3 times more runs in the final 40 overs than in the first 40, -providing they have wickets in hand, AND THEY BAT OUT THE ENTIRE 80 overs.

There is numerous players in DVCA that fill that role, and believe me, they're not all cherry pickers.

I just wish plenty could fill their top order, cos I reckon sconna is capable of anywhere between 800 & 1000 in a season. Yeah I know, big call, but he is damn good player, who gets out too often from playing too hard at the swinging ball.
If cheeseburger has the patience, and allows zerafa to bat him down the order a bit, he could potentially double his output, compared to batting 1,2,3.

its relevant to the club and its personnel, but i get sick of players getting talked up and they constantly sit down the order and then get talked about like they are out facing the best, when in reality most sides in Money only have two bowlers that you would call top quality, even then some clubs struggle to have two ( nothing against any team). i believe in credit where credit is due. Everybody loves to see the best batsman against the new ball.

Where did Flinders play when younger, was it always in the Valley, curious? I might have to play him if picked?

Re: DVCA Money Shield

Settle down Mill Park wilbur is starting to get restless
I said Mill Park got touched up by Strathewan in a practice game
Not Mill Park Ones or Twos or Under 12s
I said Mill Park
Who cares anyway
Just wanted to see what type of a reaction i would get
and you all fell straight in
I do apologise to Glenn
As for Capt Cuzz
He fell in quicker then everyone
Lots of Passion down at Redleap
Lots of pressure on there players too with there president a pernament on here
This thread should be renamed the MPCC thread with so many of there ardent members on here
I personally can not wait to play you guys and im glad it is not at your ground as the last time i played there was 7 years ago and the afternoon tea was two plates of chicken loaf and cheese sangers and the cordial was terrible...
Have been told that it did improve a fair bit but have also been told that the man that was in charge back then is now back and spending big so i guess the arvo teas will be the first thing to be cut back.....
Come on jump in...

Nah lets get serious, whats going on with the rooms?
Heard they were to be handed over within trhe coming weeks but that surely cant be right

Go Hawks

The rooms will be 4 to 6 weeks, running behind:rolleyes: whats new?

Whats wrong with a bit of passion down at Tiger land? we have worked very hard this season to start rebuilding our club. As for spending up big who told you that? The only money we have spent this season is on our new cars and boats and jet ski and plasma tv and we sent the committee to the Gold coast for a meeting (only for a week) any way if you need a car, boat, house what ever let me know we will try and help you out.

As for the tees dont ever eat the chicken we buy the 5 day old stuff:eek:

Thommo to strong for the Franks but will be a very good game with all the new ins for the franks
College to strong for NEW NEW have Manna back this season and a few others good game as well
Mill Park in a close one against the bats to be played at Morangs 2nd ground
Mont will pump Bundoora Untied
This will be a good game Hurstbridge just over Morang toss of the coin
Panton Hill will crush Whittlesea

Good luck to every one !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Agreed Thommo should get over St. Francis, however this could be an early measuring stick for the Franks, a good indication to see their potential.

Again, College should be too strong for NEWCC.. which Mann is this back? I assume, Austin who played DVCA U/21's?

I wouldn't underestimate the Bats against MP. They could be the smokey this season,

Montmorency far too strong for B.United

Hursty/Morang will be tight. Also a good measuring stick for Morang, see if the pre-season has paid off.

And yes, Panton Hill to easily roll W'sea.

But then again, the one-dayers always throw up a suprise or two.

Looking forward to an interesting season.

Just asking as I heard that you applied for a couple of jobs but was unsuccessful.

Re: DVCA Money Shield

Wizz,

Cofidence down at mill park must be pretty high with the new guys coming in pushing some of the older blokes back into the 2's making them stronger. you guys would almost be expecting a finals double this year?
