Re: Eastern Cricket Association 2010/11

I hear that Stafford won't be playing in Dunstan, he will continue playing in the LOC with the rest of the ex Richmond players...

Everything relates to Neil Baker these days. You can't leave Andrew Male out either.

Fuzzy, you really seem to have a thing about these two big boys.

I agree... Mont Albert, Burke Rd - should not even be a ground, Surrey Hills, East Doncaster, Mulgrave, SKevies, Mazenod are poor...

Ashburton can be good, Marcellin, Old Carey, Bulleen, Donvale are probably the only good grounds...

yer the private schools you always know you will get an immaculate outfield and a flat wicket which is great

do you play 1s or 2s ugly sister?

Re: Eastern Cricket Association 2010/11

Nothing wrong about North Balwyn apart from the pitch, new clubrooms are excellent, although their synthetic ground is better than the turf. SKevs is horrible, in the middle of nowhere with no civilization in sight. Donvale, Ashburton and Bulleen the best as has been said, not including private schools. Carey is excellent.

Portables at Ashy Park last year werent nice, finding that the standard of clubrooms is overall poor, clubs like Canterbury, Richmond City and Donvale having the fairly old but not too bad changeroom style. SKevs is probably one of the worst, that whole place is cricket hell.

NB and East Donny probably the best around among turf clubs, although have nothing on Abbotsford. Speaking of, who does the best tea? The Abbotsford BBQ feast is definately the best.

yer portables are always just a hot box and tiny, new rooms at ashy good tho

mont albert does a good tea, as does ashy, and donvale

worst is old carey, we played them at their ground and had nothing but scones with jam and cream, not complaining as they were delicious and fresh, but nothing else, not even ur token wagon wheels or tim tams, poor imo

Worst rooms - SKevies, Burwood, Ashwood, Barnies, Marcellin, Surrey Hills, Deepdene

Best rooms - East Donny, Donvale, Ashy - now, Tooronga, Bulleen

Best afternoon tea - Anglers, then daylight, Heathmont, Rich City, Mont Albert, Surrey Hills, Ashy, Canterbury

Worst afternoon tea - all synthetic clubs, SKevies, Tooronga, Barnies, Union, Burwood

Re: Eastern Cricket Association 2010/11

North Balwyn would have to have the best club rooms. Doubting that would be like doubting the fact that Baker is going to make 700 runs and O'Shea to play for Ireland.

Best (council) pitch would have to be donvale and the spread has to go to Boronia or Mulgrave. Mind you Mont Albert do their best to impress the masses.

Tongue or Parson's would have to be the prizes for the bowlers.

Best ECA Umpires??

Ramsey by a mile... Slatts isn't too bad... Roley is good fun but not after 5pm!!

Worst would have to be the Dutchy - Erno Rutchie! Closley followed by Thorold...

Re: Eastern Cricket Association 2010/11

Garry Male is always good value And Terry O'Donnel is always keen to trigger a batsmen first ball of the game. Always an enjoyable experience for speedsters like O'neil and Howell.

James Binney would have to be up there for ben cousins of the ECA.
