Eca 2011/2012

That narrows down the field considerably. Mulg, MA and Ashy are the ones that have played in winning and losing GF's recently, so I guess you play for one of those. I doubt it would be Mulg, so let's go for MA or Ashy.

Bit harsh u cannot remember East Donny winning a flag. As for Ashy winning in 10/11, as if u cannot remember they won it either.

maybe he is regarding his sucess as not getting relegated?

I'm going with skevs
The whole payment from community cricket clubs is a difficult question. With rising cost and sponsorship dwindling the ability to find a coach will become harder.
Larger clubs from associations with large social facilities will snap them all up.
Need to think local and train our own. There have been plenty of local coaches go through the Hatch and Dowling scene who are good coaches but never played Premier cricket.

Agree freddie.

People do get hung up on ex-premier cricketers as the be all and end all of coaching your club to a flag. But ultimately, if you have a coach that communicates well, has played alot of local cricket, and knows how to get the most out of blokes he has known for years, I guarantee that team will be better off than spending big dollars on an outsider.

Cannot agree more. It also goes for players. It would be better for clubs long term if they put their money into go junior program and the players will come through without the reliance on B grade ex district players.
Watched a sub district ones game on Sunday and the number of 18-23 year olds playing surprised me.

I assume rain.
Well Pintball I do recall you completely writing GI's off saying they have no chance against the best attack in the comp. Some attack, by the looks of things I'd say they got belted all over the park. Bad luck for some of the other sides in strong positions too this week, but definitely some big games ahead now.

Armstrong and Grubich belted them all over the park off 54 overs.

That was my opinion. If Grubich is hitting you all over the park, you know you haven't bowled well.

I heard armstrong was out first ball of the innings and he admitted that we has
Who cares!?

I'm sure there are plenty of blokes who have smoked one to the keeper, but stood still to wait for the umpire to give him out, and then proclaimed later that they really did hit it.

Happens every week I reckon, and I for one, have certainly done it.

All evens out with the ones where they give you out and you hadn't hit it.

Damian, I only gave GI a 40% chance of winning and clearly rain robbed them of victory. Well done GI. I also picked them for relegation. Should I wipe the egg off my face now or wait until they at least win a game. I think their batting will win them enough games not to finish in the bottom two. I hate being wrong. As for Mont Albert finishing bottom two, nothing over the last two week ends has changed my mind.

I may have got egg on my face and made a call on GI far too early (although they are still yet to win a game), but please do not bracket me with Paintball. I find that very insulting.
