Eca 2012/13

Completely disagree about Cam Carey. Don't remember seeing Shaun Carey bat but I'll take your word for it. All rounders at this level are guys who can bat well in the top 5 and take heaps of wickets, not guys who bat 8 or 9 and smash it for 5 mins and bowl well. The only ones that I can remember who are awesome are Tongue and Parsons, but they've been talking about a lot here.

Cam Carey was just before my time but hearing from other blokes he was absolute class. I have played against Sean Cary and he is one of the best bowlers of all time in the comp. Cary was very similar to Glenn McGrath, same height bowled a good pace and just did what ever he wanted with the ball

There wouldn't be many around that played with / against Cam Carey. All reports a class bowler and could hold the stick, not a gun batsmen but could bat.
Parsons the best out of current players.. there are a few good ones around though. Most teams have at least 1 very good all rounder.

I disagree that all rounders need to be batting top 5. I think it heavily depends on the strength of the team they are playing in, but top 7 would be acceptable.

Agree about Sean Cary's bowling (apologies for the miss spelling if you're watching Sean :)). He took a lot of wickets and had at least one good game against us. I just remember the ball bouncing really high. Cam Carey was a great of the ECA. He had the matching ego, but he could really terrorise btasmen, especially on a bowler friendly wicket at Ashy.

Except does not have 500 test wickets!!!! Paintball get a grip on reality.

Wow I must be old because I played against Cam for years. One of the best sledging players going around. Very good bowler and it was the bounce that made him extra difficult. Nice fella off the field but boy did he rev up out in the middle. They had a very good side back then as did Mulgrave.

Correct. Mulgrave and Ashburton along with Mont Albert were the premier clubs in Dunstan, and no one could get near them. Mulgrave dominated for about 10 years winning 6 in a row from memory.

My Tips for Round 5.

Round 5 could genuinely be seen as a good blokes vs shit blokes matchup when looking through the fixture. Im sure everyone has their own interpretations on clubs over the journey ..... but looks pretty clear cut to me.

BTW tips are not refelctive of good or bad .

Glen Iris vs Surrey Hills - GI could be taking away 10 points here.
Marcellin vs Boronia - Boronia to finally crack a win .... only advise to marcellin is secure the silverware.
Mont Albert vs Ashburton - MA in a rich vein of form.
Deepdene vs East Doncaster - DB .... although everyone in comp wishing Dale can tear them a new one .
North Balwyn vs Hawthorn ............. Hawks just ..... control Binney and you control NB
Mulgrave vs St Kevins ...... need an upset to i will pick SKEVs .

Come on undertaker - create a little bit of controversy - name names. - love it!

Played against Cam - great bowler - could do OK with the stick but not classified as an all rounder. Not a bad bloke - bit arrogant but probably need that to be a top bowler.
Also played against Sean Carey - very good bowler - tall and always hit the spot from a big height. Could not bat. Ordinary bloke. Probably should have won the Dunstan medal a few times but all the umps thought he was an ordinary bloke too! Just like the AFL - you keep abusing the umpires non stop - you don't get free kicks and you don't get votes.

WHACK!

There you go Maestro - named one yourself.... "Whack" as Paintball says.
Any other names after Maestro has taken the lead with the naming ordinary blokes?

I will add to that list......
Sturgess x 2.

Stallworthy lives at the top of the pile and it's a long, long, looooooong way to second. He's so stinky he makes manure smell like perfume.

Grubich questionable. Havent really seen him a lot but from all reports should be on the list. Most of the team from Rich City, Burwood, Deepdene (Parsons exception).

Grubich is a bit of a tool but he pales into insignificance in the face of the Boronia Captain. Never had a problem with the RC and Deep guys other than Luke and Dan and Burwood have been down for so long that I can't remember them ;)

Undertaker - not sure about that, who are the good blokes and shit blokes then? maybe people see things a lot different.
As people were saying with Mulgraves Pom getting 177 - still have to get them. any score over 100 is quality for no matter who it is, especially for an 18 year old! hats off I recon... hopefully thats all the runs for the season!

As stated everyone will have a differing opinion over the journey ..... i will post a good blokes win vs shit blokes win at the completion of the round !!

Agree with Paintball ... Cam Carey gun bowler of the Comp .... worked in combination with ' wilson ' i think BUT not a true allrounder in my book . Bowled as well as he sledged
