Eca 2012/13

Yeah true - who was his 7fa against? that will determine. but I guess it is based only on stats? or knowing the player and their ability? I wouldn't normally put Goodwin from Ashy in a team of the year side, but based only on stats so far you would......
at least it is a talking point!!

This discussion gets had every year based on blokes reputations, quote "have to have in from previous seasons" This is a crock. Parsons is currently not in the top 11 on the points table, has done very little this year with the bat, more with the ball, so unless you're picking him as a bowler only, don't bother.

My 2012-13 team of the first 4 rounds would be this: (B) indicates bowl

1 Fernon (could bowl his leggies)
2 Armstrong (WK)
3 Vance
4 Cox
5 Crawford
6 Grubich (B)
7 Hargraves (B)
8 Dinneen (B)
9 Goodwin (B)
10 Mullen (B)
11 Alderman (B)
12 Parsons

Armstrong to keep, purely because hes an opening bat and has had 6 dismissals, so 3rd on the list

Captain would be the highest placed skipper on the ladder at this stage for me, so Vance

Armstrong has 79 runs. He's the easiest one to leave out. We have a 1st class player who is 18yo who has just scored 177no in a one dayer (see earlier post-I give it a lot less consideration) and has represented his country under age vs an under performing 'keeper (this season). At this stage of the year, Davies is a no brainer. Davies opens as well. Bye bye Cam. Helllllllllo Alex.

Parsons has to go in. He's averaging 9 with the ball! He's probably the first bowler picked. The rest you can't have a problem with, because we just have to go off stats.

What is all this man love bull. Lets get back to real cricket stories as posted by some previous illuminaries such as Building Building, Southern Punter, Fuzzbungle and the Glen Iris and North Balwyn boys. It was ammusing, but not always PC.

Reading through them was very amusing and they said whatever they wanted and the ECA didn't crackdown on it
The ECA did crackdown. About 10 participants, across 3 clubs, were sent to the tribunal. Players were found guilty of slander and using the ECA brand without permission. No penalties were handed out, but if caught again, players could be suspended for 12 weeks and the clubs fined heavily. It's a shame none of those participants are not still part of it. It was very humerous!

Some posts pin pointed which clubs they were from. How they got the individuals from there, not really sure about that!
Clubs put under pressure from ECA and some offenders fessed up to their clubs.

Putting aside some of the inappropiate comments (which were removed) there were some great sledges.

Sure were! But I guess when you start mentioning umpires and supporters and attacking their character, the line has no doubt been crossed!

Heard GI's Pom made 200 yesterday. Must be good-when was the last double century scored? I can't remember any and I'm 56 years old.

Some big scores, Hawthorn 286 at NB is a good score, Skevs 230 at Mully is a good score, but Mully's strong batting might have a good crack at it, Marc 360 against Bor at Marc is a massive score, but that ground can produce a score-good wicket, short boundaries etc, Deep's woes continue, they will struggle against ED and Ashy look to have battled a bit against MA, making only 180 in 80 overs.

Anyone have any more info about any of the games?
