Eca 2012/13

some interesting first day scores. Went to watch a few sub district games on Sunday and saw some good young cricketers playing. Run into an ex ECA umpire who is with the subbie panel. Seems very happy with the move. Lot of good cricketers their. Clubs should look there before overseas if you need good professional players at a lesser cost. See Bradley has left Parkdale United and gone to the 'Gully.
Obviously Mulgrave could not fit him in under the cap. Not good news that a clothing suppliers is in financial difficulty. Will the 20/20 comp have a new name?

I guess we will find out more tomorrow night. Anyone else going?

Just going through the scores in order, MA seemed to smashed Ashy, 8 wicket winners. Who got the runs, does anyone know? NB lost but might be gaining a few admirers with some good results against quality opposition-can push for the 4, GI no suprises there, easy winners and still flag fav's for mine, ED surprising winners against Deep, can Deep go from flag winners to A Turf in 12 months? Marc holding off Boronia in a very high scoring affair, Boronia making 316 in the chase is a good effort-who got runs? Skevs beating Mully at Mully in a 7 run game must be very disappoitning for the Mully boys and very pleasing for the good guys of the comp.

Maybe its time for Deepdene to go and get the cheque book out so they can stay up! i would have thought losing Steele and Big Dino they would have at least some cash left over in the budget!

My tips for Round 6

Surrey Hills vs East Doncaster - easily
Boronia vs Ashburton Willows - not so easily but by enough
Mont Albert vs Hawthorn - Game of the round. Close.
Deepdene vs St Kevins - Deepdene can not be that bad. (Can they?) Parsons to make a big one.
North Balwyn vs Glen Iris - will smash them.
Mulgrave vs Marcellin - another close one.

My Tips for Round 5.

Round 5 could genuinely be seen as a good blokes vs shit blokes matchup when looking through the fixture. Im sure everyone has their own interpretations on clubs over the journey ..... but looks pretty clear cut to me.

BTW tips are not refelctive of good or bad .

Glen Iris vs Surrey Hills - GI could be taking away 10 points here.
Marcellin vs Boronia - Boronia to finally crack a win .... only advise to marcellin is secure the silverware.
Mont Albert vs Ashburton - MA in a rich vein of form.
Deepdene vs East Doncaster - DB .... although everyone in comp wishing Dale can tear them a new one .
North Balwyn vs Hawthorn ............. Hawks just ..... control Binney and you control NB
Mulgrave vs St Kevins ...... need an upset to i will pick SKEVs .

And who says good guys come last !!!!

Good guys win the round 5 to 1 .... comphrehensive

My tips for Round 6

Surrey Hills vs East Doncaster - Battle for the zimmerframe cup. Apparently ECA have transferred this fixture to a Veterans game. both sides safe in the knowledge the surrey rooms have ramp access.
Boronia vs Ashburton Willows - Ashy not the side they were but Boronia will be battling relegation this year.
Mont Albert vs Hawthorn - Agree with Match of round . MA with the home ground advantage.
Deepdene vs St Kevins - Deepdene are self imploding. Club benefactors are thinking about changing player payments to performce based - save them a fortune.
North Balwyn vs Glen Iris - GI look the real deal ... plenty of batting and bowling options
Mulgrave vs Marcellin - Mulgrave on their own deck . Cant see Marcellin winning too many away from home. Dinneen still a gun but had the match tailor made last match.

Probably wise. I had my coloured clothes all ready too. Who's fav for this comp? Any team really well suited to the circus that is T20?
I think the fav will be the club who takes in the most seriously, which we often don't find out until after the first round.

ED - might continue their good form. SH have no bowlers...
AW - Boronia are really battling
MA - match of the round by a mile. MA to get up with experience
SKEVIES - turmoil at Straddy
GI - will the Pom back it up?
MULGRAVE - Marcellin to battle away from the kid friendly pitch

sh- batting will get them over the line at home
aw- bor no chance
ma- in form
skevs- deep struggling ones and twos
gi- will get another big score NB only 1 bowler
