Eca 2012/13

Tips for weekend ( although think we will be playing in the colours the following week)

GI v MA Match of the round. Think MA just. Battle of the stinkin poms.
Marc v Deep - Parsons gaining some momentum. Should be too good for the Eagles.
St Kev v SH - See the SKEVS bats run amok in the 20/20. Surrey bowling struggling and skevs playing at the school ground will be keen to capitalise.
Haw v Bor - Cannot have boronia . they may sneek one sooner or later but not this round.
NB v ED - Dale Carrying too much of a burdon with the ball . similar with Binney . Think NB in a close one.
Ashy v Mulg Think Mulgrave in an upset. The POM to impress prior to him being called home for pre-season training.

After playing on a ploughed paddock ;ast night, all I can say is that Ilove my ground even more than I did yesterday afternoon. Some councils really need to step their games up on some grounds, especially the hard wicket grounds. Very disappointing.

Tipping ladder update after Round 6.

Maestro 26
Council Mayor 24
Paintball Lover 21
Cricket Stump 20
Watto 20
The Undertaker 19
Washout 18Chaiman Mao 17
Mad Max 16

Sorry guys but I'm sneaking away (will regret bragging when I low score next round.)
The Undertaker making a move, The mayor not far off. Max hitting rock bottom after going for some outsiders.

Good luck in the final round to Christmas.

Maestro - as you are the judge & jury on tipping ............ are we able to resubmit tips now that its a one dayer . I think theres a couple of results that might fall the other way !
cheers

Which ground were you at?

I do agree, but in my experiences dealing with councils most of them do their absolute best to ensure the grounds are in the best condition possible. I think it would be prudent to check how much traffic a ground gets during winter, and what the nature of that traffic is, before assuming that the council isn't putting enough time and effort into ensuring a ground is in good condition.

Hopefully the club you play for get to experience Chelsworth Park, because it's a treat!

Obviously I'm not going to say, but suffice it to say that it was not up to scratch. I'm not in the camp that sayd that councils do all that they can. By providing one curator for up to 6 grounds is insane. I'm happy that you're ground (Burwood) is looking good.

I'm happy that your (sic) still of that belief, because I can guarantee you that I don't play for Burwood.

On another topic, what is with clubs still getting about with white/cream trousers in one day and T20 matches? Looks horrific, and is embarrassing that a club can't raise the $600 required to pay for 25 pairs of pants, let alone that some club's players may refuse to pay that amount.

Oh I feel Pov! Cream strides and coloured tops reside at my club. Don't see the issue really. Do we also go and get coloured pads and gloves? Sight screens too? I'd love electronic scoreboards...

Get the wickets right, fielding restriction circles in place, snags on the bbq and the carnival can begin.

Oh dear, we had a home game. Could my ground be the locale for stampeding cattle that so drives he who fires ink pellets bonkers?

Aha, I think this is why Paintball is so upset about last night! Beaten by a Macgibbon team!

27 Nov 12 Edinburgh
6/85 def Deepdene Bears
9/84(cc) WT Peterson Oval

That's not news, happens all the time, STC, BUC, don't think a Turf side has actually won a T20 GF yet. BTW Macgibbon players are able bodied and have full faculties, you make it sound like they are handicapped or something. Be nice to see a Turf team in the Statewide Cup for a change. I heard the Bentleigh Uniting (4 piece ball but, yes, hard wicket) guys really enjoyed playing on the G, quite a nice ground apparently...

It would be one of the highlights of my pathetic career to play on the MCG. I think I better get the team to start winning these games.

**** Changing two Tips now a 1 dayer ***

GI to now beat MA .
Ashy to now beat Mulgrave .

All the best lads

3 teams now. Is there any team I don't play for? Perhaps I could be like Adam Dale and take a bit of $ off 6 teams and split my time between them?

I also want to change my tip - GI to beat MA. Thanks
PBL does not play for GI, Burwood, Ashburton, Boronia or NB. Very much doubt it's Deepdene although he seemed to have a man crush on Fuzzbungle. The Council Mayor can name his club. There's a challenge.

Boys ....... just bored and having a look through past results ........
Surely one of the 'Past ' champions of the competition .... a Dunstan Medallist no less ......... has pulled the spikes back on for the East Doncaster 4ths ??? looks like the old foss still has something to offer with bat and ball !
