Eca 2012/13

Don't know if either played, but clearly they needed to do more. Hawthorn definitely was/is a debacle. A lot of work to save the match. GI are clearly the team to beat this year. Their form is very good.

Paintball, are you feeling all right? Pumping up GI, is this the "real" Paintball or are you taking a leaf out of Juliar"s book?

Think it's a bit too soon to say GI's are the team to beat. Mont Albert looking very strong with their two POMS and Ashburton unbeaten. Honestly think this is anyones this year.

They're the best performed team. Doesn't mean I don't think they're shit blokes and I hope they fall in a hole. Their form is good enough to win this early in the season. Perhaps they'll find another way of failing in a semi :)
Haven't played Ashy or MA yet but have heard Ashy are playing well. 2 Poms doesn't make MA strong. Wright and Vance do that.

Painball - don't forget Heargraves. He has started well!!

Interesting that 3 out of the top 7 run makers so far are the Pom imports that we all said don't usually do well! (well I certainly did). Good for the comp though to have these players. What is D.Lee like from NB? good bat?

Yes he has started well. Haven't seen the NB Pom yet but hearing good reports about Mully's Pom through people who have seen him. They say he's class all over. I think they're great for the comp.

Yeah numbers look pretty good - best to ask the NB blokes I guess after getting 80 against them, or the Mulgrave lads but I am sure they would be biased. Who do you know that has seen him?

Forum is very quiet these days, people getting into too much trouble or something??

Always in trouble. Not because of this though. Will post when I have something to post. See a chap in A Turf made 166. Good innings.

Is Greg Powick one of the best bats ever to grace ECA? 140 & 120 last 2 games. Yes it was against 2 ordinary sides, but even at 40, still taking the piss!

Yeah good bat and a nice fella too. Not enough for Canterbury to win though.

Nth Balwyn had enough to knock over Ashy, SKOB's over Marcellin in a close run thing, Richmond City lose to Burwood in A turf and 40 wickets taken in an outright win for Heathmont over Deepdene in A turf.

Strange days indeed!

Were strange days indeed, but most results were relitively predictable after the first week.

DB just doing enough to keep SH at bay, their first win on the board, but not against quality opposition, still must have the premiership hangover.

Mont Albert's batting looks as strong as ever, they have only lost 16 wickets in 4 games! After a disappointing season last year, they have certainly come out firing, beating sides quite easily by the looks of it.

Marcellin got closer than I thought they would to SKOB. SKOBs bowling last year was their strength, this year it looks to struggle a bit with a similar attack.

Hawthorn buckled under pressure, GI look like a good all round team. Tongueys shoulders must be getting sore.

Mulgrave took care of the hapless ED. They are going to have a rotten season I am thinking, even with an ex test cricketer.

What happened at AW? NB must have bowled really well to get them out for 88. Weren't they 4/50 over the week? NB could surprise a few more this year and push for finals.

DB should be good enough to beat most teams, but their bowling doesn't seem to be getting the job done at the moment.

MA haven't beaten anyone yet except for Mully (Bor, SH and Deep all fighting to see who can get to A Turf 1st next season) so big match this weekend against AW. Their batting does look strong and Wright made runs so all positive there.

Marc's batting is their best part and their bowling will get better as a few of them are still young. Dineen still a force at all levels of ECA cricket. Skobs have a few concerns, I reckon.

Haw are on the cusp; a few good performances will see them cement a spot in the 4, a couple more poor performances like the last 2 Sats will put them mid table and out of it.

Don't know what happened at AW but NB has been sold short. Some good jobs against strong teams sees them in a position to really push for March glory.
