Still in the hunt
 
Just back from work o/s and am catching up with the goss. See big Deano is bowling pies for Noble Park.
Greg Powick is definitely a solid contributor over may years. Deepdene are suppose to be in termoil but little is heard of what.
Wonder if Luke S has headbutted any balls in the 2's yet. Parson's still the best player in the comp as no one is as consistent.
Best all rounder with Tongue to play with ECA since Cam Carey at Ashy. Big fella for MA promised a lot over his career but did not go on with it. I see Council Mayor's ear is not as close to the grapevine as usual. I am catching up with 2 ex ECA Dunstan umpires later in the week and one usually has plenty of news to share. Will pass on if anything of interest.

Would hardly describe Cam Carey as an all rounder. In the top 5 bowlers the comp has seen, but hardly an all rounder. Is the big fella from MA Shaun Carey? He only played 5 or 6 years didn't he?

mont albert- aw not enough runs last week (cannot see it changing)
deepdene- will get the job done
north balwyn- good all round team (match of the round)
mulgrave- will get the chocolates (pom in form- massive runs on Sunday for rep side plus others all firing)
 
i am with you undertaker (not many people get over the 100 mark these days and he got well passed it)

emt- overseas player taking 9 wickets
heathmont- outright win and 10 points clear on top
 
how can the association be so determined that all clubs use mycricket, when the rep side plays (under 21's) that they cannot even put in who has made the runs and taken wickets?

My Tips for Round 5.

Round 5 could genuinely be seen as a good blokes vs shit blokes matchup when looking through the fixture. Im sure everyone has their own interpretations on clubs over the journey ..... but looks pretty clear cut to me.

BTW tips are not refelctive of good or bad .

Glen Iris vs Surrey Hills - GI could be taking away 10 points here.
Marcellin vs Boronia - Boronia to finally crack a win .... only advise to marcellin is secure the silverware.
Mont Albert vs Ashburton - MA in a rich vein of form.
Deepdene vs East Doncaster - DB .... although everyone in comp wishing Dale can tear them a new one .
North Balwyn vs Hawthorn ............. Hawks just ..... control Binney and you control NB
Mulgrave vs St Kevins ...... need an upset to i will pick SKEVs .

Probably reckon that 1v2 (MAvAW) probably outdoes NBvHawthorn. But, on the positive side, you could get a job with the AFL in scheduling and programming with that attitude.
 
So a 1st class and International U/19 quality player played against ECA standard kids who may not be playing in their team's 1sts and he did well? Wow. It's a great effort but hardly astounding news. He's playing 1st class cricket, he should be doing that, don't you think?

Cam Carey is an all rounder! As for Shaun Carey, I believe he only played for 2/3 seasons. Could not hold a bat to save himself!
 
Undertaker - not sure about that, who are the good blokes and shit blokes then? maybe people see things a lot different.
As people were saying with Mulgraves Pom getting 177 - still have to get them. any score over 100 is quality for no matter who it is, especially for an 18 year old! hats off I recon... hopefully thats all the runs for the season!
 
Glen Iris vs Surrey Hills - goes without saying, GI in good form and SH have struggled. GI Pom Jack Taylor looks like he has good numbers!
Marcellin vs Boronia - Boronia underperforming? on paper they are better than a lot of sides.. Marcellin did well on the weekend, could surprise them but Boronia just.
Mont Albert vs Ashburton - Ashy are great if Cox makes runs.. think Harg, Wright, Vance in form for MA so will get them over the line comfortably.
Deepdene vs East Doncaster - I think will be a close one. Dale to take a few if he plays. Might get Parso out early and Deepdene could be all out for under 100. ED batting struggling?
North Balwyn vs Hawthorn - NB to win in a close one.. Their Pom and Fernando to make runs. Haw rely on Tongue too much.
Mulgrave vs St Kevins - Mulgrave going well, few good contributors. Pom to make 100+

Completely disagree about Cam Carey. Don't remember seeing Shaun Carey bat but I'll take your word for it. All rounders at this level are guys who can bat well in the top 5 and take heaps of wickets, not guys who bat 8 or 9 and smash it for 5 mins and bowl well. The only ones that I can remember who are awesome are Tongue and Parsons, but they've been talking about a lot here.
