Eca 2012/13

PBL does not play for GI, Burwood, Ashburton, Boronia or NB. Very much doubt it's Deepdene although he seemed to have a man crush on Fuzzbungle. The Council Mayor can name his club. There's a challenge.

IMO its either Hawks or SKEVS .... although maynot be SKEVS because PBL complianing about the ground and Onley oval is a bit of a Donkey track in itself !!

Then there were six!.....As we approach the run home only 6 teams have genuine semi final aspirations....with the mountain men likely to exit Dunstan.

Tipping update after Round 7

Maestro 31
Council Mayor 28
Paintball Lover 25
Watto 23
Undertaker 23
Cricket Stump 22
Chairman Mao 22
Washout 21
Mad Max 18

My tips for round 8.

Surrey Hills
Mont Albert
St.Kevins
Ashburton
Glen Iris
Hawthorn.

End of season predictions. Ladder won't change for the top 4. Boronia gone. Fight between Deepdene and Surrey to join them. Surely the Deepdene boys can't go from chocolates to boiled lollies in 12 months?

Next Round tips

Surrey to beat Nth Balwyn - A turf GF rematch (match or round for mine) ..... should be a bit of spite in the match with the loser also putting themselves one step further to relegation ..... surrey to reverse last years result with the bats keeping binney out and scoring at other end

Mont Albert to beat Marcellin. Mont albert to bounce back after being monstered by the GI pom. Should have too much depth for the eagles.

SKEVS to beat Boronia ..... SKEVS playing for finals . Boronia should just take the next two months off and head to the beach with a return to A turf inevitable.

Ashburton to beat Deepdene. Wheels have well and truly fallen off the Parsons bandwagon. Hes a one man band with no support

Glen Iris to beat East Donni . If the POM gets going against the ED attack 300 is on the cards ! .... Suggets the residents on the Western fencline put up some netting or keep the kids indoors .

Hawthorn to beat Mulgrave .... has the pom gone home ? either way think that Hawthorn should do enough to get over line.

NB too good for SH
MA to bounce back
Skevies to get their season started
Ashy to put the final nail in the DB coffin
GI way too good for ED
Hawthorn in what should be a great contest

Boronia and SH back to A Turf with Heathmont and no idea to come up to Dunstan

Council, you disappoint me, surely you'd be hoping, no praying, that your beloved Burwood make it back to the top tier.

My tips are:
NB - Fernando or Hosking may score 100.
MA. One of Wright, Vance, Baker or Hargreaves to make 200.
Skevs outright - they need to take 10 pts here
Ashy easily - could Parsons do it by himself?
GI - Agree with Undertaker. The POM could give the record score a touch up after his game against MA.
Mully - Have a feeling they'll get the job done, even if the Pom has gone home (I hear the hot weather doesn't agree with his freckles)

Geez guys, only nine days in advance! I'm a bit behind on all this tipping stuff, but here's my inputs FWIW!

Surrey Hills - only because I like the home team in the first game after Christmas, and I can only imagine that Binney hasn't spent more than five minutes without either a ciggie or a can touching his lips.

Mont Albert - without a huge amount of confidence, even though Marcellin and GI are two completely different kettles of fish.

St.Kevins - Boronia are rubbish; shit blokes, even worse cricketers

Deepdene - at home, I reckon they might just have one more effort left in them and I also think there are still question marks over Ashburton's batting depth if Cox doesn't get going. If Deepdene drop this, A turf beckons, win this and they could frighten a few teams in the run home.

Glen Iris - a quick outfield could spell disaster for East Donny... GI by LOTS. But, will Taylor be required to return to England early for preseason training as well? Other County squad Poms that I've played with/against in the past have generally been able to hang around for the full season?

Mulgrave - word was that Davies had to be back in mid January (there I go contradicting myself again!), but surely he'd be looking to stay as long as humanly possible to get some sun (even if he does just get a flywire screen tan)? That said, his stats haven't been outrageous, so I'll stick with Mulgrave regardless.

Welcome back all. Nice to be in the office again.

Have gone through the draw and think the top 3 will all make it but I'm tipping Mull to take Hawthorn's sport at 4.

Weather looks ok for Jan, hot and dry so hopefully we'll get 8 weeks of cricket with no interruptions.

north boring- surrey no bowlers
ma- dineen wont be able to do it
skevs- welcome to A Turf Boronia (bring back the black trousers on 40 degree days)
deep- upset victory
gi- just cos
haw- allround effort

I believe that mulgraves pom has gone but the pom that was here a few years back and lasted a game or two is here again. He also played for Mazenod a few years back. Not sure how fit he is as he didnt play a game in the Uk last season (Kent) Must have been injured.

anyone else heard the rumours that ashburton have managed a mid season recruit in seb gotch, australian U19 captain from a couple of years ago?

on a side note, my tips for the weekend:
nth balwyn
mont albert
skevs
ashburton
glen iris
hawthorn

Boronia are gone as all can. Bears will survive because they play Boronia soon which will put them one game behind. Who would be main player in the Dunstan Medal turning from Christmas?
It looks like SKOBS will tip Mully out of four if pre christmas form in anything.
Lot of the pitches have been the most under prepared and green (excluding wet weather) I have seen for a while. Some games they might as well have just tossed the coin and gone to the pub.
Who would be leading the biggest sook or down in the mouth player so far? Dan Sturgess?
Would not be a happy place down at the postage stamp. Any truth in the rumor that next year for the 20/20 comp Boronia are going to wear moccasins?

Interesting results from the weekend.. must have been some under prepared decks - agree with you Freddies Son.
Surely Taylor from GI is on top by a bit. Although Grubich would have stolen some of his votes somewhere along the way.. Tongue usually gets votes.... not a lot of competition at Hawks..

biggest sook - going on this season or reputation? got to be Sturgess... could only be worse this season! what about the Boronia skipper? have to be up there?
