Fantasy Domestic League Draft Discussion

Re: Fantasy Domestic League Draft Discussion

Yeah, but that particular player is well short of 15 ODIs. Maybe for the second season of this league :D

Hmm, speaking of which, assuming the league is a success, will we be keeping our teams for season 2, or drafting new sides?

I think everyone has the same idea, a certain Netherlands allrounder....

He wouldn't happen to play for Essex. :D Or have a first class average of over 60 :D

I think what we should do is drop the players we do not want anymore and draft accordingly, I.E If cleazer drops 3 players then he gets 3 picks.

Re: Fantasy Domestic League Draft Discussion

Assuming different people will want to play, I would think we'd need to draft entirely new teams.

And yeah, I was disappointed when I looked up how many ODI's ten Doeschate has played. ;) (And the other problem is, you can't really calculate a fair test average for him. Do you really want to just "subtract 10" and say he's better than Tendulkar and Lara? That doesn't seem right.)

Re: Fantasy Domestic League Draft Discussion

Well, new teams could be accomodated by means of an expansion draft (I'm not sure if non-North American sports have these). Each team protects a certain number of players, and the new team can draft players from the old teams.

I think it would be more fun, you could try to build a dynasty. Would give someone with foresight the thought to draft RtD even though he is ineligible, to groom him and prepare him for future BigCricket glory!

Re: Fantasy Domestic League Draft Discussion

It's actually 10 percent, so it would be more than that. Which makes his average the 3rd best in the game lol.

Re: Fantasy Domestic League Draft Discussion

Is there a minimum number of overs bowled for bowlers here? I just noticed Shabbir Ahmed's 1.66 test bowlign average, which seems ridiculous to me. Good on you for finding him, Southswans, I just want to know if it is allowed so I can look for some myself!!!

Re: Fantasy Domestic League Draft Discussion

SouthSwans has his columns mixed up. That's his batting average!!

Re: Fantasy Domestic League Draft Discussion

Well even so, 8.80 is really low also.

Re: Fantasy Domestic League Draft Discussion

Another question (can you tell I am doing a lot of research today?)

Will there be any lineup restrictions like there are in the BCFCL? Obivously we will need to have a wicketkeeper, but do we have to have an all-rounder? PEACE!

Re: Fantasy Domestic League Draft Discussion

8.8 is the test bat. 1.6 is the ODI bat.
23.03 is his test bowling average.

Re: Fantasy Domestic League Draft Discussion

ooooh, righto. Confused = Me. It was a long restless night with these damned matches in Africa!

Naw, I don't think so. You can have an allrounder but the only compulsory thing will be a keeper for the obvious reasons.

Re: Fantasy Domestic League Draft Discussion

Good stuff.

So are we going with cleazer's idea of shortening the draft time to 12 hours now that we are through the early rounds? Would make things go a whole heap faster.

STAY TUNED - Tomorrow I will be unveiling the name, logo, and kit of my club.

It's progressing fairly quickly, And with some guy's oversea's it could mean they have to wake up all manners of time to make their picks which isn't fair to them. If they agree sure, But i think it would be too hard !
Does anyone know how to make a logo ?

Re: Fantasy Domestic League Draft Discussion

heh, I made the 25/25 logo in Paint, by stealing some pictures and putting them together.

Re: Fantasy Domestic League Draft Discussion

The draft really seemed to speed up over the past day or two. So long as people keep logging on and checking over the next few days, I think it'll go pretty smoothly.

Re: Fantasy Domestic League Draft Discussion

Rats! I can't believe you punks took both Dhoni and Clarke. I was really hoping one of them would make it down to me.
