levi could end up being the australian version of gerry the subway guy. surely woulda lost a few pounds batting last week plus with 2moro's heat he may be unreconisable by 6pm sat night

well he has batted in a long sleeve jumper on a 30 degree day before. i would love to see him fielding in the long sleeve woolen jumper on the 45 degree day. Now that would be a real weight loss method !!

i think we have to win outright both games, and you have to lose the last game still. so just let us beat you outright and then make it interesting in the last round lol

Re: GCA & BPCA match previews and reviews

just redid my calculations. we are still 15 points behind you, so a win and an an outright are required as long as you blokes lose both games

I don't know how that rule works, and I don't think I'd wanna win that way anyway

Re: GCA & BPCA match previews and reviews

yyyyyyeeeeeeaaaaaahhhhh baby!!!!!! woooooo hooooooo!!!!!!:D

the wallabies wannabees what ever ya wanna call us played in the searing ridiculous heat defending 189 against jan juc and triumphed thru massive adversity and won, rolled em for 156. the 2nd best win ive ever played in.
boofa biemans 27 overs 9 maidens 4/41 unf(*&^$#ng beleivable show of mental toughness and a will to win for his team, bowled sensational all day. big butchy cameron turned the match in 3 balls in the 39th over with a stunning hat trick, all lbw, and dont worry they were all out. 22.3 overs 3 maidens 6/59 in another unf*&%$##%ng believable display of true heart and grit, the big fella had to leave the ground after his first 8 overs thru exhaustion but returned for a second spell and ripped the middle order to shreds. once again all bowlers bowled tight but the 2 big boys did the job. craig lucas batted well in two spells for 78 runs and iva priest also batted well for a tough 23 in two spells. an awesome win by wallington in the toughest conditions ive ever experinced. game was played in good spirits with drinks and icy poles and sponges every 30 mins, fielders bowlers and batsmen resting off the ground as required. THATS WHAT I'M TALKIN ABOUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D:D:D

mate it was stinkin hot, one bloke wore skins coz he reckons they keep him cool, wrong, he went off after bowling 3 overs and rested. when ya bowled ya just sucking in hot air and it nearly kills ya, but we really wanted and needed to win to stay in finals touch, i could bang on for hours about how good that win felt and how much mental toughness we all displayed and blah blah blah but im sure you all understand how it goes. great lesson for the young blokes on how to win also.:D:D:D:D

Re: GCA & BPCA match previews and reviews

well boys the old wallington reared its ugly head yesterday against collendina on that f*&*ng ridculous piece of crap they call a wicket. we were all out for 84 in the 46th over. blokes still batting to survive the day rather than playing shots to post a decent score, four of them definitely victims of the unpredictable wicket. never the less, we still played crap and just didnt adjust to the conditions at all. fabris got 4/30 and long 3/15. JImmy Bartel opened with a license to smash as he cant play next week and smash he did, took his chances and got away with it for a good hard hitting 109 off not many overs. this proves that you can make runs playing the right shots even on that pitch, will handley is 29 not out after being caught behind taht everybody but the umpire heard. i dropped jimmy in my first over caught and bowled sky ball when he was on about 75. he was eventually out to boofa biemans off another big sky ball caught at gully. cobras are 2/146 i think. bloody annoying follow up to last weeks sensational effort.:mad::mad:

Its fair to say that bloke would play 1s at any gca club for sure.. had a stint in west 2's about 4 years ago.. he hit me onto the bike track many of times after being dropped by a skyed ball when he was in the 60s.. finished with about 90 i think that day.. can bat.. and his bowling is very handy

Re: GCA & BPCA match previews and reviews

ask and you shall receive

NORTH GEELONG v SOUTH BARWON
After the debacle of the week before, with all games being heated off, the match result really didn't matter to either side. North Geelong won the toss and elected to bat on what looked like a good wicket. Hall and Spierings did well to survive the opening onslaught from Hunt and Anderton before Hall edged one to the keeper after previously being dropped in the slips. Millard joined Spierings who didn't hang around for much longer edging one off Brad Hauenstein. This sparked a major middle order collapse with Brad Hauenstein taking 5 wickets for 33 runs including the key wicket of Alf Clark for 13. Millard continued to provide some resistance, and North headed into tea with there backs to their wall at 6-100. Anderton was immediately brought back on after the break and Anthony Ford was also introduced and the two cleaned up the tail, bowling North out for 129 after only 48 overs, giving South 32 overs to bat before the end of the day.
Millard 51 B.Hauenstein 5-33 Anderton 3-35 Ford 2-2

A determined North outfit took to the field for 32 overs but the luck didn't go there was. After dismissing Morrison, Scown had Ford dropped cheaply by Millard in first slip, and then in the final over the day Lymer had Whittingham dropped by Scown also in first slip. South headed into stumps at 1-62 in prime position. The new day started with South clearly on the attack. After being clubbed for a few fours, Armistead got the wicket of Whittingham with one of the worst balls ever, bringing Hester to the crease. This spelt trouble as Hester immediately took to the bowling with glee. Scown finally dismissed Ford cutting to Clark in the gully, and the real Hauenstein :p came to the crease. The two put on 63 quick runs with Hauenstein only making 9 of them. The same thing happened in the next partnership with Linke making only 9 whilst Hester continued dominating. The fake Hauenstein came in for the final dig with Hester who brought up his century and South declared at 5-235, in an attempt to earn an ouright to gain a couple of spots on the ladder.
Hester 102no Whittingham 36 Ford 32 Scown 3-62

The North bats set out with the aim to simply not be bowled out and right from the first ball it proved to be tough. Anderton bowled brillaintly with the new ball with tons of aggression and roughed up a few of the North bats with some great short pitched bowling. Millard provided the backbone scoring another good 50 before stumps were pulled up with North at 4-87.
Millard 53 no Anderton 2-19

Votes 3. Hester 2. B.Hauenstein 1. Millard
