GCA & BPCA match previews and reviews

Re: GCA & BPCA match previews and reviews

Brendan Hall to make his debut for Collendina against Newcomb this weekend. 14 years since he played on hard wickets... could be very interesting!

gday, Newcomb cricket club could be gaining the services of Shaun Pledger, East Sandringham product, opened the bowling and batted at 3 during the succesful years of 6 first grade premierships out of 7 years. ex-vic rep juniors. he will be a handy pick up if all goes well.

WALLINGTON V GWSC

Camo finally won a toss outside of his bedroom and we batted. great start by camo and benny atkinson 1/86 benny out stumped on 36 waiting for the spinner to get the 5km/h ball down the pitch and fell over his own feet. boofa came in to up the run rate a bit and we went to tea at 1/121 off about 43. pretty happy for once and aiming at 250 plus. boofa departed for a quick 15 caught goin for it. we sent some sloggers in having the luxury of wickets in hand for once and it failed, went from 3/171 to about 6/175 with guys getting caught or stumped going for big shots, camo batted well all day to be caught behind on 93 in the 63rd. after being in a handy posi we threw it away a bit, some good batting by young connoley brothers at the end we scraped to all out in 74th over for 207. pick of the GWSC bowlers was M.Andrews the slow left arm offy taking 6/54 off 17. GWSC can be happy with their results after tea, a good fight back.

your tips from here boys.

St Albans/Breakwater V Anglesea.

Before week one review would just like to welcome Shaunn Branniff back the the mighty supa saints. Now apparently jonesy has been pushed to bowling into the wind after me while the existing showpony Jason Murray is now joined by returning show pony Shaunny Branniff.:D:D

So Muz won the toss and decided we would have a hit, Robbie Cutajar and Rory Fitzgerald opened up and Robbie was out for 10 having a go as he does, ( 1--16) Nick Mallyon joined Fitzy and those two pushed the score up to 85 before Fitzy absolutely burnt Nick when he was run out for a well made 38 (2-85) This brought Sean O'leary to the crease who scored a bit slower than usual as Anglesea had spinners on and 5 blokes on the boundary in the 25th over. Fitzy was out for 64 being caught and bowled in absolute blinder by Coles from Anglesea. We went to tea at around 3-150?? I think...can't remember to much coz I was scoring and it was f f f f f f f**ing freezing at Breakwater. After tea we upped the run rate a bit Seanny O was out for a well made 84, then Johnny Irvine came in and cracked a quickfire 58, Muz made around 20, Luke Bennett 20 and going into the last over we were 6-320 lost a few in the last over going the slog to finish on 9-327. Which is a pretty good score as the Breakwater oval was a bit slower than the last few weeks, so we are quietly confident of being able to roll Anglesea but they have some good batsmen in their team ie Ashley Poulton, Darren Jacobs ok well maybe 2. But if we can bowl well early get the ball in the right spot and get a couple of early wickets we should be able to get a win.

get A Melville out early and you guys will be a good shot, just bowl full and at the stumps coz they struggle to hit it on the off-side!

I wouldn't get too excited about watching Ando in this game though..... That is if the GCA man up and ban him for a while after yesterday's little outburst!!!!!;)

Dunno if you'll be able to deny this one hey Brett?
