Re: Geelong Cricket '08/'09(gca/bpca)

We are called the frogs for a reason.

One small step for man

One giant leap for frog kind.

All bow to the turf clubs. we play teams on turf and still win. My 3 brilliant overs a week have taken me to the lofty heights of the Geelong Advertiser! All bow to Benny the Jett. Someone pass me a glass of milk.

gsmcc- is that the new guild-saints-murgheboluc cricket club as it could be known from 2009/10?

yeah, doubt that'll happen...

Murghi are getting a complete renovation of the clubrooms, and plans have already been put in a while ago in relation to the turf wicket, which should be in place come 09/10.

Didn't the COGG knock them back from getting a turf wicket?

Who has the worst Arvo tea?

In my experience, the University cricket club has a long way come up to scracth.

Little River always had a good one, although i swear it was probably poisened or it turns up hot after a long trip in a horse and cart.

Good food, sh!t company (watch out for some Richo bloke)

Manifold put out a good arvo tea, probably ate too much of it, as Zane carrol dismantled them with a marvellous 150. come back big zane, i miss my partner!

The Qantas club does alright too, as soon as i walk in they rush me into the first class section.

It is true, i knocked back the offer to captain coach Australia this summer.

I'd like to think so, as this is his pre-season mark. Ozzy Boogs knows his in for a long summer if he hits 1000 pots before the first weekend in October :D haha

after a week of pre season training on the gold coast downing schooners, there could be a few records cracked this season on the tiles

Re: Geelong Cricket '08/'09(gca/bpca)

Probably the most painful post on here. im sure everyone agrees.
the day marshall beat south barwon is the day cricket dies.

Marshall's opening batter reminds me of Butterbean.

Thoughts on who will be the most improved players this year?

Geelong West kid Tim Wight. Got shedloads of potential from what ive seen, and should be pretty solid in 1's this year.

I reckon if Morgo can get the best out of the young ones at Joey's there could be a couple of good one's there that step up to become good GCA players. In my opinion if you can find some kids who can develope into good players, but that are not that interested in going down to Geelong C.C. then that is way the GCA will improve and I reckon Joey's have a few there.

Does anyone know what harper is doing this season? playing in the 2nds i heard.

Yeah thats been the rumour all year, but Grovey have lost Bogan, and without Harper will have a pretty slow/weak bowling line up. Someone from Grovey told me that Harps reckons he is feeling the best he has felt in years at preseason, and sending em down pretty sharply. Good chance to play 1's youd think.
Maybe we should ask the man.

Waurn Ponds had great afternoon tea.
However there wicket was rubbish.
Less time in the kitchen and more time on the roller!

I reckon Murghe may have missed the boat in getting a turf wicket. If they were to get one surely they would have been granted one before a team in the BPCA.

Word is trev mcmancans has been training the boys fairly hard at little river and will be swinging the ball in all directions now that he will have a 2 piece in his hand this year and along with burrows is readying himself to dismantrle the guild bowling attack again

The word is little river have pick up werribee's opening bowler, very fast. faster then anyone Div 2 or 3 have seen. and may have signed a gun hoppers crossing batsman. i have played against both of them as i play in melbourne they would both play in most div 1 clubs.

They are putting in some red carpet when yours truly arrives for training and matches. they are also widening the driveway so the stretch hummer limo can do a u-turn after it drops me off.

Well, this has become quite the thread.

You need to get a life and a real job! stop wasting everyones time with your posts that know one cares about. You ain't funny, Indians aren't funny.

You need to get out more, kicking people off big cricket doesn't worry anyone, they just start a new user name, or are you not smart enough to work that out yet?

So it's best if you get back to your Indian cricket threads and talk in there someone might actually listen to your law enforcement:mad:

WHAT IS THE GREATEST SLEDGE YOU HAVE HEARD IN THE GCA AND WHO IS THE BEST SLEDGER?

Danny Hughes loves to ask every batsman if they got lost on the way to the 2nds

so by going off last seasons effort, where not good enough, remembering we had atleast 6 players under the age of 21 last season in nearly every game.. we havnt lost anyone so the younger guys are only going to improve and learn more from each season??

after getting pulled for 6, chris runia stood in the middle of the deck and abused a bloke saying " how's a ************** like you play a shot like that? " to which the reply was " bowl it agian and i'll show you "
fair enough, same half tracker was pelted down and went sailing over the fence in almost the exact same spot.
runia dragged himself the next over and didn't bowl again for the rest of the day
i was umpiring at square leg, i nearly wee'd myself.
