GWC&FC into the BPCA what a joke, that will be the biggest mistake they ever make prob the biggest rubble in geelong cricket, them and marshall:mad:

Funny thing is, they left the GCA because they wanted to have some scope for improvement as a club and to help their development. ************ me; would have thoughht that Div 3 would help them do that. They got their backs up about being relegated to Div 3 as they obviously thought they were better than that. Reality hurts sometimes; I agree, the most disorganised sporting club (cricket & football) in Geelong.

I thought Newcomb had run out of cash again, just like the footy club.

They never learn. Sooner or later the penny will drop that by getting the club right off the field including juniors is what needs to happen; not throwing cash at high-profile recruits for a short-term fix.

Your spot on. Marsland will have to take on a fairly big work load this year. Mind you, I do think he is good enough.
Kent needs to drop down the order and just concentrate on his bowling and not worry about his batting. He would be more handy for the team batting 7 or 8.
But I think Trav Agg is a bigger miss than Lindsay is as a super pick up. Jarvis was coming of age late last year, so they will need him to step up again as he did last year to help with the batting stakes. But knowing he has Lindsay and Pittsy just sitting in behind, it will help out.
But top 4, I think not. Not yet anyway! Top 6 yes!

I agree, Marsland not as good as he thinks he is.

Re: Geelong Cricket '08/'09(gca/bpca)

Gee with all the cash that Newcomb threw around for those few years, look what it got them!!!!! All it achieved was turning them close to broke and hatred from other clubs. They remind me of Freo a bit, plenty of skill, you never know what you are going to get each week and everyone playing for themselves and no one else and most importantly, NO SUCCESS!!!

Marsland will be the quickest in the league this year if he's injury free.

Close!! Except when Ando is on song he would have a few yards on Marsland.
But Marsland will be quick and is quick.

marsland will be a superstar this season and easily quicker than anderton.

dunno why everyone thinks anderton is super quick hes the hardest to face cos of his line and length and height he bowls from as well as bein a lefty but because hes big and in ya face doesnt mean hes quick.if he lost 15 kilos and got fit he might be.

if they havent got there junior strucure in place now there in a lot of trouble cos its only guna get harder when st albans come into the gca. with ndcc, st albans, newcomb bulls, thomson and city or within a 5km radius and sth barwon, marshall and leopold just outside there just aren't enough kids to go around that are interested in cricket.

and secondly why would you want 2 go play there with the most ferral supporters this side of fords!!!

marsland wouldn't be anywhere as good a bowler as ando, he's got heaps to learn still, ando on he's day is the best going around by a fair way.

can you read the posts properly please before responding or is it just the st albans intellect coming out in you.

i did not say marsland is a better bowler than anderton just that he is quicker. of course anderton is a far superior bowler at the moment.

didnt know we had bones in our guts
