I reckon they would take it fairly seriously but don't know a lot about it. Do you know the rules regarding players, do they have to have played in the grand final side last year ? meaning new recruits can't play or is it open slather or if players have left the club ?
Nahhh just players that are at ur club this season..
we were in it last year and had lost plenty of our premiership players..
ended up playin plenty of kids and got beaten by east belmont in the geelong final

I dunno how serious the GCA clubs will take it. And going on last year I'm pretty sure any players that are registered at your club this year can play in it.

Should be worth a look ipl or babies arm can you let us know when and where your game is on when you know? and same to Bourney or Supersaint as when your game is on and where?

Cheers

Our club just got an email from the GCA to let us know that we have a meeting next Wednesday night to discuss the format. Last season it was the Division 1 Grand Finalist's, the BPCA Grand Finalist's and the SLCA Grand Finalist's, but this season due to the SLCA disbanding and going to the GCA, it must have been decided that last season's GCA Div 2 Grand Finalists in Waurn Ponds and Guild/St Mary's were included. Not sure of the format of which teams play which or the location of the games, but I am sure we will find out next Wednesday night. In regards to taking it seriously every player that steps out for the Swans will be taking it seriously, that is for sure. Hoping to have a few of the games at the T20 friendly South Barwon oval. As for some slogging from IPL, it might be my chance to actually get up the order !!

He's quite happy at South Barwon.
But if he did change his mind i'm sure we would acquire his services but i cannot see this happening any time we are still in division 2.

Wasn't he given his marching orders last time he was playing there?

Re: Geelong Cricket '08/'09(gca/bpca)

I have been hearing around the traps that the St Joey's ground is not in a good state at the moment. Can anyone shed any light on this one, as it has always been one of the best going around. Maybe Antsy can let us know what the problem is there ? An attack of rabbits, or are they not getting any water on the outfield ??

Is this topic on a one-month roster?

We have been through this plenty of times, Brett left on his own terms.

duno bout all this antsy business but anyway. the pitch was same as usual but the outfield was shocking. little potholes everywhere, and theres a fair amount of sand on the oval, it was like playen on the sahara desert. or maybe not that bad but u get my drift. definitley not as good as it has been in the past. but thats an opponent who got injured on it's opinion so take from it what you will. mayb theres a joeys player on the forum who can have a crack at answering it. blame the school lol

My god if you cant handle how much you drink then sure dont drink but if you are a person that enjoys a frophy or 7 then fine go for it. What people do outside of cricket is there own business unless your unlucky enough to be BECK, (bad luck bud).

People's opinions on what other people do outside of cricket has got nothing to do with drinking til 11, 12, 1, or 2. I know Ando has alot of respect for Horniet and the rest of the south boys, I know Ando pretty well i grew up with him. No matter what people say no can change but to say someone has a drinking problem then they need face re-arranged. . . To many c%&kheads with opinions in Geelong Cricket. Want to play more serious f&*k off somewere else.

Im hearing the CHEETAHS need all the knobs they can get. . . .
cheers TTP, i didnt realise i had people from bigcricket following me around counting my beers.
one thing is for sure, i can 100% guarentee that when i wake up, there is no hang over whinge as soon as i pull into the ground its all cricket.

as for people not liking me at south, im sure they would tell me to my face and if not well its up to them. the improvement in the club since ive been at sbcc has been fantastic, everyone works together and people miss out on games, others probably should play higher, but we consider if you are a turf player or a 7ths player you get treated the same way.

i love hearing bout all my clubs ive had...... Thomson, Geelong and South im not sure where the get there info from but if GCC101 would contact me and let me know who he is then i would gladly have chat. (next people will ad all the rep sides) Get a life people i will be at south all year and years to come:cool:

Re: Geelong Cricket '08/'09(gca/bpca)

All this shit about Ando & Babbsy has been an absolute joke, I'm laughing my head off:rolleyes: Are you people serious? they were seen at 11pm drinking before a game? who gives a flying f uck?

they were actually at our rooms Saturday night, they seemed fine to me besides the usual painful dribble from Ando:D;) left to go home about 10. Hardly worth nailing them to the cross now is it?

And if Babbsy cant have a beer on a Saturday night with his mates when he's not even playing this round, you people are kidding yourselves.

A few people need to get a life and not comment on things and people they know nothing about.

ps GCC101 if a few of your club people were like Ando and Babbsy your rooms might be open past 7.30pm on a sat night:eek:

Div 2 was supposed to be in it last year; St Peters & Mano but because it was so hastily arranged, it didn't fit in with all parties. I heard that the scheduled game involving StPcc was supposed to be on the same day as their Major Raffle. Anyway, it's good to see that the event will be more organised and with great support this season.

42.6 Hussey to Dhoni, FOUR, the low full toss, Hussey searches for some late inswing but loses control of it, Dhoni merely punches it through the line and bisects mid-off and cover.

Well bowled Hussey.

Is there any chance Ponting will throw the ball to Katich? His record is better than White's.

Re: Geelong Cricket '08/'09(gca/bpca)

What grounds in Geelong have santa ana couch? and what grounds are getting it? It is a great surface for both cricket and football doesn't need much water and gets cut to 10-20mm so would be fantastic for cricket outfields.

Grinter Reserve (NDCC) is getting it. Council poisoned the ground late last week and are expected to start the overhaul late this month...
