Interesting Weekend in Divy 1, Dont know about anyone else but they should just print all these posts and throw all of us the cash to write in the Addy atleast we will know what we are talking about, Dont know what has to be done to get through to these THICK HEADS @ the addy but something has to change. Maybe someone has to belt someone in the teeth ( Anyone got Ando's number) or just take down a camera to blood reserve were there will be CHEETAH DNA all over the pitch at Breakwater. . . . . . :D

Re: Geelong Cricket '08/'09(gca/bpca)

Well today the day Cheetas, stand up or go packing. Muzza and Jones to clean up.

North Geelong v GROVEDALE - too strong
NDCC v St.Joseph's - Dino's to win
Lara v EAST BELMONT- Nobody likes East Belmont, but too much fire power
Leopold v SOUTH BARWON - Be a good game, close one.
GEELONG CITY v Geelong West Pitt in great touch,
NCCC v BELL POST HILL- All round depth here, winners in too many positions.

Agree Addy crap, we should get together and ditribute our own GEELONG CRICKET NEWS LETTER with advertising to pay costs and pay to kids in each area to letter box drop. (I Know too hard and costs heaps, but maybe to each club) surely there are some aspiring reporters out there at each club and some cameras for some pics. Each club will have a news letter, this will just be the same but bigger scale. Printing biggest cost) any thoughts???? suggest something, I'll help.

Just had an RSPCA inspector call me. Wanted to know if i knew anything about the cheetahs being culled at breakwater today. I said "yeah and one walrus called parker, but ya better be quick coz it wont take long"

Re: Geelong Cricket '08/'09(gca/bpca)

pick a sqaud of 15 from gca.. like australia take 15 ona tour, let's take the gca on a tour. who would you take?
who'd captain?

Re: Geelong Cricket '08/'09(gca/bpca)

Noticed the St. Albans boys have been a bit quite online this week, Must be building upto the carnage!!

Think we will here a fair bit from them after this round or even next week, we'll know in around 8 hrs.

Re: Geelong Cricket '08/'09(gca/bpca)

Who is the favorite to get the boot next year from div1?

Heres my estimate

NDCC $1.20
BPH $5.50
Nth Geel $9
Leopold $15
West $17
City $25
Newtown $38
Lara $51
South $81
Grovedale $91
St Josephs$501
East $1001

As for the GCA next year do people think there will be changes to div2 with Guild coming in for Murge and making 2nd div all turf?
I think they have no choice but to, I don't think Guild deserve to come in(no juniors no money) but there is no other turf team to come in.

So they will get a free ride up:( IMO

thoughts?

You too, DR HARRY (Harry's Practice) just emailed me, Filming a report on gutter rats. Told him he could put down two rats with one stone, Cheeta's at breakwater, and only a five min drive to east belomont. (Had to mention that not get to east's ground until 6.45pm as they don't finish until 6.15pm, east aren't known to hang around for a drink with everyone after the game)

6. G Yelland
7. D Morgan
8. B Scown
9. P Quick
10. D Fanning
11. B Anderton

Team 2
1. A Pitts
2. G Kelson
3. G Talarico (c)
4. S Lindsay
5. A Clark
6. R Kiddle
7. S Loftus
8. M Kelson (wk)
9. C Ford
10. B Tsitas
11. G Harper
12. D Koliba

Becko, good sides here. The concept is good, in that a one day all-star game woud get a good crowd and be a good honoour for those selected. There are some quality players here; however I feel as though only the following would put their hand up for Country Week: M Kelson, R Kiddle, Talarico, Pitts, Stanley, Baars, Bambury, Hauenstein, Yelland, Scown, Anderton & Zanoni. Disappointing when you think that if the GCA could take its best side, then no other comp in the state could get close. Year after year however, they are perrenial bridesmaids when taking a 3rd, 4th or 5th-string side. But, enough whinging, back to my original point; becko...well done.

Aren't Murghe in the process of organising turf?

Also, St. Albans will have turf and are a far better club than Guild

Re: Geelong Cricket '08/'09(gca/bpca)

tips for best bowling/highest score for the round?

GCA1
possibly bambury to continue good form, or maybe hodgson against an undermanned ndcc
best bowling, maybe the hornett or ando tomorrow against leopold

GCA2
smelly to make about 140 against a struggling marshall
illingworth to take 6 against a weak bell park

GCA3
time for furgie to make a stand, a big tonne against lethbridge
lees to take about 9 against a very poor corio bay

and sorry, dunno much about bpca, but murray to take 16 wickets in an outright flogging.
melville to break the world record for most amount of blood lost in such a short period of time

Wrong'un: I think the GCA will give Murghe every opportunity to get their turf in. GCA like the Frogs; they are organised, have a good ground (just missing the turf) and have quality juniors. Guild have a lot of work (if they could be bothered) in front of them to get back. I think you will find that the status will either stay the same next year for Div 2/3 or another club like a Marshall will swap spots with Guild.

GCA 2
Agree Smelly will smash'em Salts, and Cammarotto will be the only Marshall bat to hit back. (If he hits the ball instead of piss farting around playing fairy shots .

GCA 3

Don't know anyone

BPCA

Norquay, McGrath - Murray, Jones & Addy (the darkhorse under the radar if he gets the chance)

i play for guild , but i actually agree with you. excpet the money, we actually do have money. but no juniors, just represents a bad club. i love my club, i played my first game of cricket when i was 5 years old for st mary''s, so i'll probably never leave. just wish the club as a whole was a bit better, with a better reputation

The GCA and it's clubs wouldn't allow St Albans to go straight into Div2 would they?

tried to make the odds realistic becko but I do think NDCC are going down 100% Then you'd assume they'd lose Ford-Ford-Koliba-Clarke at the least.

from the score sheet on My cricket it looks like Jason Murray was not playing this week, so there maybe no damage done next week when they bowl. With a score like that he is probably not needed, although the ground is small ??

Watched Lara v East Belmont in the one's today. Some little fat bloke fielding at mid wicket for Lara was sledging up a storm, seemed to be no love lost. Don't think it was Bambury, think he was in the slips.

Firstly Murray didn't play so he was obviously worried about playing us:eek:

They were lucky yesterday got away with so many loose shots that could of easily gone to hand, they could of been all out for 150 if luck went our way.
Adam Melville bowled a treat yesterday he was superb all day getting 6 wickets, Seb Loader bowled well for us too picking up 3 wickets.

St Albans are cocky pricks this game is far from over we have to bat yet.

Maybe so but won't happen IMO they will be in div3 next year, which is a lower standard than BPCA so it will be a tough decision for them.

The GCA should give these(Murge & sta) clubs as much support as possible and maybe should put them straight it but it won't happen, and clubs like Guild and Marshall will get free rides year in year out:mad:

You can not, in all honesty, expect to get anywhere near that score. You are an inferior team and everyone on this thread is laughing at you
