yer im pretty sure they all started out at newcomb, but that was very early days, but u/13's 15's and 17's were all played at albans, and they moved to newcomb to play turf cricket. tommy is a great defensive bat and should be playing in newcombs first XI. having played with all 3 throughout juniors, itd be good to see them all return to albans when our turf is up.

Blaynodelay seriously do you have any idea? if a bloke is shit in the twos how could he be any good in the ones?

Re: Geelong Cricket '08/'09(gca/bpca)

we still have not had a match report from young Ants14 from the weekend. It would be good to hear the insight about if there was any chances in the last wicket partnership or if those two just batted really well. I see the Joeys potholes did not cause any long term damage to Ant either. Also what was the go with Clinton Ford bowling 39 overs unchanged ?? I assume he was on the 3 step run-up so it is not a herculean effort from the tall Ford, but still a pretty tough gig. Did the Joey's wicket assist the big man in allowing him to drop the ball on a length and not having anyone game enough to smack him back over this head ?? He is the guy that has bowled ten overs 1 for 0 a few seasons back, might have even been last ?

Glenny H has only ever hit one 6 in 1st XI cricket and it was off the one and only Thommy Rissole !! hehe, at least you have a place in history from Glenny's point of view.

Haha i've been hit for that many i forget :D

Although for rough memory, full-toss flat batted over to the Barwon Heads Rd side of South Barwon, think that was my only bad ball that day.

also any takers on some of the sights we would be expecting to see tomorrow at the Geelong Cup with some of the cricketers in Geelong ? Any regular punters at the cup, anyone to avoid, who is a classic to be around ?? And before you all start South's Ando and Babbsy are both working !!

And I had a quick look at the twos Saturday up at Joeys and your two's are shocking I saw the fates bloke in the history of cricket opening the batting for NDCC:eek: looks like there's good depth at the dinos:rolleyes:

Are you going to talk cricket or Just attack someone elses physical appearance. I agree the Twos performance on the weekend was shocking there were 3 proven bats in the side who didnt get a start. I think 80% of the wickets were guys playing across the line. They are yet to win a game but one bad performance isnt a season write off.

who have newcomb got that should be playing ones in front of him???

by this i am not saying he doesnt deserve a chance there but
Jason Harrison, Craig Hillgrove (2nd XI Captain) are two players that could play in front of him.

hehe, good memory, exactly how it went !! And sorry if you heard the South Boys laugh their heads off, but Glenny does not normally hit off the square so it was something we had never seen, and are never likely to again :) Unless of course he gets a game in our T20 side !! Sorry Glenny !!

The thommy boys will be out in force, my tip for best on ground would have to be Jay Bowman, the man is a big event specialist and has been in preperation this day for a couple months now, spent a month at low altitude training and has been sleeping in a hyperbaric chamber. David Boyd won't be to far behind Jay but i'm tipping the three english imports to finally get amongst the aussie women and get of their ducks.

i would have been required to bowl 20 plus overs if i had of been 100% fit mate, especially with scowny gone to the wedding. anyway here goes.
tsitas won the toss, (2 headed coin of course) and elected to bat on a pitch where the batters could only get themselves out and outfield lightning. kelson and cruickshank opened and batted well against some good bowling from scowny. kurt hiller eventually came on and got the break through which brought about a collapse because they started batting like retards and went from 0-49 to 6-70 odd when scown left. finished on 6-90 odd at break. ants14 got the first wicket after break and that took them to 7-102, and then it all went downhill. tsitas put up a bit of resistance with baker who was dropped and a stumping was missed. then finally we had them 9-180 wen our second sub fielder came on for shane lymer going to work. then harps and mcdonald batted well and didnt throw it away, harps got dropped once but apart from that we just didnt have the firepower to get the last breakthrough.

baker ended up on 80 odd i think, mcdonald 53no, harper 47no, and cruickshank 43 at the start. scowny 3-39 off 16 straight at the start, col millard 2-61 off 31 straight overs, good effort.

btw harps i sed nice things bout u, no bouncers please

ask and you shall receive gca ipl lol

Will you lose them back next season with St Albans getting turf?

Who are the other U/21 players in the ones?
And are they handing out 1sts games to whoever can be bothered rocking up at NDCC? who was that bloke in slip all day who didn't move last week? didn't look like a cricketers arsehole:eek:

That's a good mate of mine named Damien Stick. He mainly played seconds last year with a few games in the firsts. He wasn't going to play at all this year because his knees are no good. Hadn't trained for about a month and got the call up on Thursday night before the game. Slim pickins at Newcomb at the moment.

Gee NDCC are flying picking blokes that don't even play anymore to play Div1 1sts. Shows how good the two's players are, no respect shown from the selectors. I'd imagine a few two's players would be dirty:(

Don't we all.
But I must admit nothing gives me more pleasure than seeing NDCC struggle:D
The amount of arrogance that came from your club when you were throwing cash at every joe blow a few years ago when you had a great side(that underachieved) made everyone hang out for these times and every club will take great pleasure in pulling your clubs pants down in all grade this season.

Which blokes were the arrogant ones in your opinion?
