happy? :(

Am now. I didnt realise the list was so long. Its almost understandable why these guys may dislike the club. Did note 4 or 5 players still at the club from that list though. obviously first ones to the bank...

Re: Geelong Cricket '08/'09(gca/bpca)

enough of this Newcomb bashing, when we played them this season their players/supporters were all fantastic in every grade. Not sure what happened in the past but they seem to be trying to turn things around. Also the T20 VB cup games have been announced, see below for details:

Irrewarra v Alvie – to be played in Colac – date/venue to be determined by the 2 clubs (match balls given)

Sth Barwon v Guild St Marys - Sunday 9th Nov at Guild 12 noon start (match balls given)

Waurn Ponds v St Albans/Breakwater – Wed 12th Nov at Breakwater Res 5.00pm start (balls to be collected by WPonds from Rob Agg)

Grovedale v Barwon Heads – Sunday 9th Nov at Grovedale 9.30am start (balls to be collected from Bruce Nunn by Jason Mallett)

Semi Finals – Sunday 30th November at Sth Barwon or Grovedale – one am game one pm game

Final – Sunday 7th December at Geelong Cricket Ground

You can be as sarcastic as you want but I know for a FACT that at least 6 of those names where/are owed money by NDCC, it's common knowledge news travels in Geelong.

And why did Farnsworth leave? Young and up and coming bowler who played all his jnrs at NDCC? must be a reason:confused:

Not sure havent really considered it. While i still enjoy my saturdays on the feild win lose or draw i will continue to play. some ppl are there to enjoy the game with some freinds and then the beer after the game with the same ppl, while others are happy to let it go if the game doesnt go their way.. I sir am one that enjoys a saturday with my mates and then having a beer with them after the game..

Nothing better than catching up with evreryone from the other grades, etc at the end of the day's play for a few beers. When I play, that's what i love.

Re: Geelong Cricket '08/'09(gca/bpca)

has anyone given thought to what we all say if those nugget chasers actually get the runs agains st albans. by the way i think they will fall at least 160 short even if they bat all day. but wouldnt it be horrendous if they won.

Re: Geelong Cricket '08/'09(gca/bpca)

Look guys; I'm not up with the NDCC situation probably as much as I should be but why is it that clubs think that bringing in a ton of players and paying them truck loads of money will benefit the club long-term? I mean with all due respect to you Dino, etc; look at Newcomb now; barely struggling to stay afloat. Was it all done to try and win a premiership in one season? Look at the guys that went there Murray, Roach, etc; notorious money-chasers and surely they wouldn't have thought for a minute that these players would still be there once the tap was being turned off. I don't know if there is much of a relationship between the football and cricket clubs out that way but the similarities are scary. Football club throws cash around; recruits mercenaries; wins flags and lo-and-behold were on their knees before they did it, are on their knees now and through it all; have no u/18s. I wonder how easy people will sleep at night when they look at the history books and see those two flags written up when the club is near extinction two years later. You tell me what the problem is; wheel out the cash; get success; everyone leaves and then the club suffers 200-point losses every week. Then look back at the cricket side of the club and think to yourself; 'hey what's going on here?' Whoever is in charge needs to think to themselves; am i doing the best thing for this club and club community. My answer would be a definite 'no'. People wonder why the rest of the GCA have little if any sympathy for the plight ahead and currently for Newcomb; hopefully I have given you a hint.
