yeah only seen him once didn't overly impress me, they got hugh ingham also who they rate out there as the next ricky ponting but he aint that special, they get easily impressed down there.

schaller is a gun, i think all the batsman in the comp will be happy he's gone to geelong.
herbission should be batting in the top 4 in a divvy1 side somewhere.
damien vassilou is at geelong west apparently, there going to have a top batting line up.

west have got class players coming out of there a*ss this year, they'd wanna push hard into the finals or else heads will roll :D

Lennie and Leisel mate. You should know.
Shanebourne, the subject is still a bit touchy so id appreciate if you wouldnt make such low comments.
All i was saying is that if the break made a team based on its loyal alcoholic customers, they would have a talented outfit. Maybe you should carry the drinks since you probably wouldnt make the starting team.
In that team, carrying the drinks is prob the highest honour.

Shanebourne would be a very handy all rounder in that side. Take my word for it.@|

I would like to know if Sharkbite has ever actually played 1sts cricket!
Not talking much sense! Even City players I have been chatting to think he is a goose.

Far too many Elliotts in Geelong cricket as it is. I reckon Grant Elliott does more damage to cricket in Geelong than any other single person

think dewwy is taking control of it again.
they will lose a few players.
O'Neil to skipper again with Mitchell Troy Vice Captain i would think, same as last year.

Hopefully they get a full squad to choose from and they stay off the beers on the sat night, not worth the 3 hour trip to Seymour again to watch them play if the opening bowler cant run in cos he is too hungover.

Some Probables:

O'Neil (Thomson)
Troy (North Shore)
Hodgson (St Joeys)
Fitzgerald (St Joeys)
Nguyen (East Belmont) *knee issues
Nolan (St Joeys)
Armistead (North Geelong)
McGuane (Colac)
Gove (Newtown)
Herbison (Barwon Heads)
Schaller (Barwon Heads)
Orvis (Queenscliff)

Feel free to add some from your club or others you know about :)

how does oneill captain this side. very overated

the elliots have left a legacy to geelong cricket. the comp wouldnt be so strong without these blokes doin great things for the league over many years

if you have a quick look through the post from the last few days you'll see everyone wants you 2 eff off you moran!!

Re: Geelong Cricket '08/'09(gca/bpca)

Yeah it is Tim Clarke from Joeys. He played a couple of 1s games there but mainly 2s. A handy all rounder. Ingham is definately over-rated down there at Queenscliff. Never made a run for Geelong fourths.
Troy Nolan from Joeys might be playing down at Geelong this year.

i doubt it he loves st joeys too much and will struggle to travel to geelong pre-season seeing he goes to uni in ballarat. wil be a loss for the u21 side if he does go to GCC :(

legacy indeed. legacy of endless stream of kids leaving the game cos they don't get a go while skipper (and so called leader) grant bats for his average (zzzzzzzzz.....), does a sensational Captain Araldite impersonation and keeps as well (like he wasn't hogging the game enough). even worse is he doesn't even bother to try to win the game, it's just all about him. great example to the kids

could add more weight to that post that went out in the ballarat bigcricket site about those 2 fella's looking for a club, maybe all 3 of the allen boys are jumping ship?hmmmmm haha :D

On the Allens- Blair is living and working in Melb now and cant be stuffed with driving back a few times a week for cricket like he did most of last season.
Drews staying on at east, and Leigh i think has decided to play one more year there cuz this they reckon is easts best shot at a trophy!!

Re: Geelong Cricket '08/'09(gca/bpca)

so what do we all think of the chances of getting a full GCA season in this year??? the water reserves are lower than they were 2yrs ago before the shortened season. so it could be just as bad as that summer. but we have better infrastructure in place now...will it make all the difference or are we still going to lose some of our cricket?

HAHAHA, thats funny!!!

sam parry a bloke that plays at queenscliff but nobody knows if he is 16 or 68 is balder i recken and the worse thing is he wears a head band, and the tiny little bit of fluff he has is red, and he's covered in freckles and he's a goose.

he played down at geelong in the 4ths as well for those who may know who im talking about.
