Hally was all class yesterday, he and a couple of the boys came down to our $5000 draw last year and spose got to know him alot better. Geniune nice bloke, chanceless innings and didnt get to troubled with anything i threw at him. There was a couple of LB shouts early, could have went either way but apart from that just used his strengths to his advantage. Good knock worked Hard. Was quite suprised when i told him he was on 48. Hally's words " Bullshit Ando, am i" Still could'nt ruffle him.

Good win by the North lads out played us on all accounts. First time in a while i have seen Brad 'Massive calf muscles' Scown get a full head of steam.

Play of the day St Anderson Bowled C.Ford - Sorry Ants ha ha ha :D

Votes: S.Hall 3, B.Scown 2, C.Millard 1.

Funniest Play of the day: NDCC number 11 A.Lucas smashing Scowny over his head for 4, then Scowny saying "your shit", Lucas turns and says "No Shit I bat at 11" Funny moment had to be there. . . .

Anyway Well done again to the north Boys hard to chase 225 when we were 3/2 in the first over then 5/9 in the 8th.

Dino's need to have a long hard look at themselves and maybe stop making excuses, too many superstars with not enough ticker. Excuses galore as per usual. . .

hey jurassic, maybe the captain and coach should have a better look at who they play each week, how r u ever going to win when some of ur players r already speaking to other clubs. Why would u still play these guys in ur firsts?

Think he could be talkin bout grovie. They were about 2-130 chasing 186 and ended up getting rolled for about 175. I know ill cop some flak for this but besides the last few overs it was the most boring game ive seen for a long time.

Also badger can you tell your mates in guild 2's that if they wanna make ridiculous bets regarding guild smashing modda 1's that they should pay up when they lose. Didnt see the game yesterday but obviously modda proved that there a mile better than guild.

i dunno about proved they're a mile better champ, but yes on the day they were far too good. batted very well, bowled very well and fielded sensationally. weren't arrogant about it either.
i think, personally, getting flogged the way they did on saturday is good for our 1's. it brings them back down to earth, makes them realize they aren't invincible. and come finals time, and probably the grand final (which will more than likely be modda v guild) they might actually have some respect for their opposition, rather than going in cocky, having the game already won before the first ball is even bowled.

Solid Defence-

Do you know anything about the BPCA 20/20 comp starting in feb? what format? if there's prizes etc?

I haven't heard too much yet, but I don't think itd be a cash prize or anything, probably just the chance to be crowed BPCA 20-20 champion. The format will all depend on how many teams enter. If they get an odd number, the top two or three teams from last year will probably get a bye i reckon

You'd assume all clubs will want to be in it, being a mid week comp. so that will be 14 clubs I think including St Leonards. I recken they should seed the top four from last year. The last thing that should happen is a Barwon Heads v Collendina or St Albans in Rd 1.

Should be good anyway, will give some of the lower clubs something to have a crack at.

This is the sort of comp that cricketers should jump at! It's quick and has the potential to be a lot of fun for everyone.

Just read on the geelongadvertiser.com.au website that Bell Parks rooms burnt down last night. Has anyone heard anything about what happend and how much worth of damage?

Bit of bad luck for europe football and netball club. Maybe they could finally build some decent rooms instead of the 1950's commision house that was standing there.

Re: Geelong Cricket Chat

Look out for a Supersaint recruit in the 2nd half of the season with the initials JM. The great St Albans President is at his best again;)

Bourney wouldn't be celebrating if Maher went back to St Albans/Breakwater, no room for 2 spinners on the concrete ;)

St Albans breakwater playing turf next season ( if im not mistaken ) could be getting back early to know his team mates ( any chance of jnrs reunion seeing Hester, Mills, & Shiell all head back to St Albans ??

I would love to see them come back to us when we go into the GCA next season. I personally haven't spoken to any of them about it one on one yet, but i think it would be a good opportunity for them to come back to their club when the club itself is in such a good position at the moment. Ithink there is plenty of potential there especially with Millsy.

do you guys know if youre going div 2 or 3. with promtoion and relegation back in it wont surprise me if they make you go div 3 first and earn div 2. that would be crap in my opinion, bpca is better than div 3 and you guys are clearly ready for div 2.
