a big week in the hdca just before finals

in a grade

hwest had a good win but not quite good enuff to get the full 10 pts. Good to see chickenman score a great knock of 135no and backed up by his coach greg camilleri with a well made 77. Did have them 5fa in the 2nd innings but with martin and bubba still at the crease with the scores level they never had any real chance.

edinburgh had a great win against the out of form hberg for the 2nd time this year. After a VERY disappointing batting display by the burgers they never really gave their bowlers a chance to defend anything (about time they relied on someone other than bubbles and cash to get them out of trouble i feel ???? ) . Nick abbott scored a brilliant 125 and well backed up by the ever reliable Bradley shadbolt with a well made 89. Whilst big bubbles did the job again pulling back some respectability with 4/60 from his 20 overs. Edinburgh will be hoping for a win next week against the blowies to finish the year off on a high.

After amassing 275 the international XI were very disappointing in allowing rosanna to pass them 4 down. Lukey anderson, huss and dan dunbar in his first game of the year in first grade did the damage all batting very well against an ordinary bowling effort. Only player to pick up multiple wickets was the young up and coming luke harbinson who will give the saints so hope for the future and not just relying on there wallets. Very good sign just before finals for rosanna and a big finals series for them may be on the cards.

In the match of the round banyule ended up easily accounting for slime. After making 215 last week held together by ray kelsey (102) and having banyule 1/5 overnight with dangerman brent oconnor out,they were looking favourites but some goodbatting from youngster ryan hartnett (27), marty phillips (35no),j.wilson (55no) and justin poyser (71) got them well and truly over the line. Very good for banyule people to see them easily win without brent oconnor contibuting to the scorecard.

Well if all results go as expected then the likely semi finals will be

Rosanna Vs Gborough @ rosanna if playable
Banyule Vs Hberg @ banyule

any thoughts from anyone??

Like your work Mr Cricket......... Rosanna and banyule Grand final for me, Ockaman will tuneout the runs come finals time and will be too strong for the howzats! Jeff Wilson, Rowdy and ocka, plus D. barnes will peak at the right time... Dissapointing to see heidelbergs top order doing so badly. not the same side without Hunter, favrins and jordan..big job for Brid come finals time!
I dont like the slimes batting, there key batters are making runs, Kels, butts and the bloke who opens. if they make no runs they are gone.. parnell should be dropped to the 5ths and get some runs now, then bring him back for the finals. good to see the bear making runs.... he loves em.

Warne machine, it has been a while but good to be back, noticed little chicken boy made a good hundred on the weekend, probably one of the better batsmen to watch when he gets going!! Also, right The Berg's off at your own peril as they are proven performers come finals time and have heard on the grapevine that they will have a couple of handy inclusions come semi-final weekend!!! Watch this space......

Have you been on the receiving end a few times Mrs Cricket?
Instead of worrying about who Heidelberg have playing in their side you should concentrate on your own game, maybe then you will be a slight chance of performing when it counts!!!!!!

I hear what ur saying Mr Cricket, but the key of winning finals is peaking at the right time!! Heidelberg has done this better than anyone over the few years! I must say i cant see this happening this year, Fezz must be dreaming a little, Sorry 2 say, but the river rats cant come back from this form slump.. and Mr Cricket..... are you worried about them? u boys shouldnt be with that gun off spinner u got!

The chickenman tells me he will play if your top order from the last few weeks are playing, he needs some wickets!!!!
Who are the players to come back? Hunter, Favrin x2, Jordan...if your 2nds plays finals any1 can go up, right?

Good 2 see ur young boys getting runs fizz. The big brid has had a great year with the bat making over 500 runs this year. I notice Wayne Parnell made a hundred on the weekend..............sorry, for the year! Im surprised how many people check this site out..... a few of the howzats boys not happy with a person down at west!!!! if you dont like whats being said... say something< free country guys!!!! And H, I wont suck ur balls..... and i dont think any1 would..............oohhhhh yeaaah baby.

Yes, was good to see a few of the boys spend some time in the middle, still a lot of work to be done come semi final weekend.
Unlike the Sanna boys to be upset with someone, very calm and placid bunch down at Dewinton.
I see the Banga's succumbed to the heat of Dulip & Alexei on the weekend, would not want to go into a semi against The Berg's having been beaten outright!!!!!!!!
BIG couple of weeks ahead, good luck to all involved!!!!!

What Happened to the blowies on the weekend warne machine??? I heard the appeal to get rid of duckman (chickenman) from TAB on burgendy street!!! Anyone no why McMurray and Shaw didnt play on the weekend??? Surely clubs in the hdca arnt going with the rotation system???

I have heard that Shaw has had surgery of some sort and will only play in the Granny if the Sanna's make it, as for McMurray can't answer that one, fairly average performance without him on the weekend though!!!!!

D.Barnes will have to do some bowling come finals time.

Does any1 know if Mcmurry is playing, how serious was his injury?
I remember a long time ago Banyule played the Bergs in a semi, which the crazy bears played the game at chelsworth... is this game played there?
I heard Brid Grindal is resting this game and will play in the g.f.. he is very sure of winning with no rowdy.. the slime are on a roll with nothing to lose.. howzats with no Shaw, Raywood has 16 wickets for year... way under his best! low slow pitch will help the slime with their bowling attack. Heidelberg..v Greensborough Grand Final with the slime taking home the Brady shield! or jeff...Jack shield???????

wats the official news on mcmurray and shaw? or is there a rotational policy going on as cumbag mentioned earlier?? a few genuine contenders 4 the flag this year and hopefully my mob down at the slime can take home the flag but heidelberg just seem 2 lift come finals with grindal and sticks favrin always lifting to a new level...and as the man says "the cream rises to the top shag!"

parnell to make a double ton this week and smout from heidelberg to continue his form with the bat and notch up his maiden 1st grade ton!!

huge news from down at bergerland...breaking news infact....i was down at a resturant in heidelberg sunday night (kfc) , and just happened to run into grant jordan picking up a variety bucket (with a large potatoe and gravy) and he tells me gun opener brett smout has done his ACL at footy training on monday nyt where they had a intra club match and will take no part in the bergers finals campaign. massive blow for the river rats and young smout especially as he was returning to form last week with the runs.
