Heard any more news about Sumner Colts, crispy? Have they definitely applied?

I've heard that they officially applied and then they were officially knocked back by the MC.

Re: HDCA cricket forum

TLB - I Don't know. You'd have to ask someone from the executive. You seem like the type of person who would have a few contacts - surely you could find out.

Re: HDCA cricket forum

i am a student of the game old boy. i enjoy the little nuances the gentlemens game of cricket provides us all. back in the day i held a degree in sport science and majored in techniques of fast bowling. but today i sit and study from a distance and enjoy life!

Re: HDCA cricket forum

Ho old boy, seeing how you have spent a bit of your time down at Brunswick St, I was wondering if you recall a wily medium-pacer by the name of Eddie Illingworth - a true gentleman and by the sound of it, someone of your genre.

By the way, how are Edinburgh going to go this year? Are they still missing the dashing top-order strokeplay of their old CC from South Africa, Gus?

In your opinion, who are the sides to beat this year?

young Edward a great mate of mine we spend many an hour at the Rose pondering life in general. you ask about Edinburgh, well i think they wil be the bolter this year. my info has them with a stronger playing list and the prospects of a former club captain/coach from a cross town rival soon to announce his arrival. Gus a great man. a visionary!!

Re: HDCA cricket forum

Don't know about them being that strong. I've heard that they've lost a few from last year. Brad Shadbolt will have to make 1000 runs for them to make the finals. Who's the ex CC - Could it be a former Bellfied great and ex- AFL umpire?

Don't be surprised if the 'Sannas are right there at the pointy end of the season. May be a few big returns. Deansy will be a big loss but the word is that most of the 10 gorillas spent on him last year will go towards bringing in a big name!

Dan Davies has moved on from Edinburgh so he'll be a loss. No idea who they've picked up.

I agree about Rosanna, crispy. I hear Thorpy is back after a year off, Jared Battenally has crossed over from HWCC and the word is that Kane Shaw will be playing all season. They should be right up there in the mix.

Ho you make me laugh tiger! TOUGH LITTLE ************??? agree on Shaw good quality person! Hear some rumblings from warringal park that there may be some dissapointed boys that may be playin in lower grade side this year after the major signings of the past month?? where is all the kanga coming from?

Re: HDCA cricket forum

TLB - I think the Bergs must be trying to keep up with their footballing namesake. I hear that young DOWDY from the footy club is playing with them and is apparently a gun, bats 3 and opens the bowling. Being chased by a number of Premier League clubs but hasn't got the time to play at that level. My mail is that the bloke that runs the HFC has told him that he will be playing for the Bergs during summer as well!

That's all they need, another gun all-rounder to go with Sticks & Bubbles. I hear they've also picked up a couple of blokes that played Premier League 2nds last year.(Wonder how they'll cope playing HDCA 2nds!).

Everyone goes on about Plenty and Rosebank but they forget about Heidelberg. I've heard an ex-HDCA exec, who now works for another comp, say that he reckons Heidelberg would beat Rosebank more often than not - I wouldn't know because I don't see either of them play enough, but if that's the case it's pretty scary that they're the current premiers and still getting stronger.

But as I said before, I reckon that the boys from DeWinton Park will be pretty strong this year.

Creme old boy you seem to disregard the boys from Brunswick st too often! sure the Heidelberg side are clinical, too clinical, maybe they are on the same gear as WCE? with the inclusion of some quality Edinbugh will challenge hard old son! for me Edinburgh, Heidelberg, Greensborough and East Ivanhoe. i hear Ivanhoe east have signed a world cup player to add to their former test player!! plenty of folding down that southern corridor???

Re: HDCA cricket forum

Ho, I've heard the same story coming out of Chelsworth Park, apparently he is a batsman who played for the Netherlands. Look forward to him bringing some good 'cookies' down for afternoon tea!

By the way HO, my sources tell me that you are in fact the guy that use to sleep under the newspapers in the grandstand at Brunswick Street. Are you prepared to confirm or deny this?
