Re: ICC suspends USA Cricket Association
No, they would not.
1. I've said it before, fans hardcore enough to pay $200 to watch the complete games, would not give them up just for couple minutes of highlights on Youtube. Those who have decided to pay that kind of money have already subscribed, and the PPV networks already got their money. I mean, those who would have done it, already have. Not many, if any, would subscribe now for the same money when half of the games are gone, just because some (not all) of the highlights are gone from Youtube. If I'm not mistaken, they don't have the option of paying for single games.
2. They are actually losing the opportunity to gain more fans worldwide (and that equals money long term) who would be exposed to the event through YT highlights. They would not become hardcore fans overnight, but there has to be a start somewhere and this would be it.
3. There are dozens of websites that are streaming live matches in full, many of them for free. They are probably the real threat to ICC and the broadcasting networks. If ICC must do something to keep their partners happy they should focus fully on taking down those sites instead.
I think it's safe to say that 20 years from now cricket won't be any more popular with these terribly short-sighted people in charge. FIFA is money-hungry too, but thank God, they are not half as retarded as the ICC.

We all know the ICC is money-hungry, there's no doubting that.
