Re: Madrid Magic Team Thread
The comp will always have players who don't post frequently, that's just a part of the game. It is almost impossible to get 11 or 12 players who post every day, it just won't happen. The aim to have a squad of players who all post at least once or twice per week and contribute one or two posts for a match thread. A lot of you new guys are forgetting that people do have lives outside of fantasy cricket and can't be on all the time to post, so expecting a constant stream of posts from all players is unrealistic.
Far too difficult to implement, that would someone having to go through every single players posts weekly which would be far too much work, especially when uni, school and work starts back up again for those who are on holidays at the moment.
I am against giving bonus points to those who post frequently, whilst frequent posting is strongly encouraged in this competition, delegating BP's to those who post a lot is unfair on those who can't get on everyday and is ultimately slightly discriminatory. It would also turn into a situation where posters would start spamming to gain points and posts would turn into short one or two word efforts which I don't want to see.
The bonus point situation at the moment awards one bonus point to the poster who is judged the best poster in the competition (Poster of the Season). With more posters signing up and the comp getting bigger, it might be worthwhile extending it to the top three posters to reward those who post quality and not quantity.
Mousey said:If, for example, a player and his team don't perform in the season, but he post regularly and is around all year how would they get the advantage over the competition? Maybe give 1 or 2 extra average points to players who post and deduct 1 or 2 for players who are inactive? I dunno.. but it seems those of us who post (I know I've only been here for like 2 weeks, don't throw "you haven't been here that long" comments at me, please) aren't rewarded. Boncer is one example. He doesn't post yet he can come in here and still get a game.

Mousey said:Maybe we could give 1 point to players who post say... 10? times in a week, and if they don't meet the quota take 1 away (having a maximum of 50 or something though). I don't know maybe thats too hard and complicated. But we should really look into giving ways of giving us who participate a slight advantage.
