still not convinced you guys are the real deal. reports back from your match on saturday suggest you had some luck. not sure how seeing you won convincingly, but reports are the bowling line up isnt that crash but batting is strong.

suppose we'll all will just wait and see come March and finals time.

Luck? The only luck we had was when Terra won the toss and put us in.

Whoever your source is, is way off the mark.

Also, why do insist on saying we are not the real deal? We have had a stroke of luck ( st andrews ), but even without that, we would be clear in 2nd spot.

Anyway mate, you have your opinion and i have mine.

Sorry to say it guys but St.Marys definitely are the real deal. Their confidence has soared since receiving those points against St.Andrews, hardly missing a beat since then, and they have a great deal of experience which we all know is a key factor come finals time.

The big surprise is that St.Andrews could even miss finals action if they drop this weekend's game against St.Francis. Hard to see that happening though with St.Francis really falling apart since Xmas. Both teams will be hungry after going down last week in games they would've 'expected' to win. But its that sort of season and with such a tight bunch of teams challenging for the last 3 spots it promises to be a great finish and no doubt there'll be a few surprises to come.

its getting very interesting people.2 rounds to go and so many teams fighting for finals.how would it be if=
e.coburg win outright vs haig
w.coburg win vs socials
glenroy win vs pacco
st francis win vs st andrews
sunshine win vs barkley st
merlo win vs st marys
now i dont think some of these results will happen,but if they do how tight is it going to be come final round.just some food for thought. last time i said w coburg might be a chance to make the finals not any more but they can EFFECT the finals in the last 2 rounds

Must say one very interesting tip there Pudd. Socials to get beaten outright by West Coburg. Whilst it is certainly a a possibilty that west coburg will win the game outright is a bit of a stretch. You are talking about a pretty much even money game that could go either way and you are stating an outright win one way.Not a easy thing to achieve the outright victory would only be a couple each season and this is usually achieved when a strong team plays a bottom of the table team. Which club do you play for ?

I don't play at all mate. Playing days are over. Played 22 years at District level and follow the MMVCA quite closely with my nephews playing in the comp. Most of the games I have watched Involved Haig (Struggle) Meylo (Unlucky), Socials and Ascot Vale (lower turf).
West Coburg are by far the best team in the comp and what I have seen of Socials they are a mid range side. and have been fortunate this season with some results (Haig in a 2 dayer).I'm not going to bad mouth Socials but In MY opinion and that's all it is, that they will struggle to dominate the best bowling attack in the comp like they have been the sides they have beaten.
I hope you don't take this personally because I do have you in the top 4 but they will lose well against West Coburg

gee there are some touchy people on this thread.

Its only MY opinion that other players tell me St Marys are not that strong. But you are proving most clubs wrong and I hope you do well.

any reason why Pacco bowled, was the wicket bad???????

On paper, I would say there bowling is there strength, rather than their batting. But this season it looks like they have improved in the batting department, mainly through being more consistent.
Darren Harris - very experienced
Johnny Grant - under rated
Brad Hunter - best spinner in the comp
John Caccione - never played against him

plus they have some handy all rounders.

I guess I will find out this week

Thats fine. They are a very strong team particularly bowling wise. I just find it hard to believe that the will beat us outright. you are certainly welcomed to your opinion I was just stating mine. Not inconceivable that they will bea us but i feel outright is impossible for them and any side this year to beat us that way. Anyway only time will tell.
