Re: mmvca

A lot of anti Saints sentiment on this site.

So many sore and sorry people hoping for our demise. I think are secretly all want to become Saints players themselves!

204 is not a very big score with this side batting so deep. Jolly, Tapps, Josh, Nev, Jimmy and co, will be digging in today and hopefully building a solid first innings lead.

Good luck today boys!

Re: mmvca

After 2 days play, i would like to say by gee we have a game. It was a weekend where both teams could have put the other team away, both teams were 7 for stuff all and to both teams credit they dug in to put totals on the board. Will have to wait another week for an outcome as this will go down to the wire. Would like to say though to Paulie who was suppost to be a bunny, hats off to ya buddy great fighting spirit.St Andrews for me though in a thriller. Go sainters

Agree with everything you wrote, but for me its St Marys to win. The fielding hasnt been great from both sides. Thats the only downside from what has been a really good Grand Final so far.

Re: mmvca

Even money for mine StAndrews may have got first innings under their belt, but i believe Stmarys will still have an oppurtunity to win particuarly if they score at a reasonable clip next saturday!Great Knock G.Tapner!

did st andrews get bowled out 1 run in front or did they declare. Correct me if I'm wrong but isnt the GF only 3 days with the fourth a reserve day. If that is the case the surely st andrews wins as st mary's will have to set a target and bowl st andrews out in a day. If it is a 4 day game though then yes it sounds like it is very much even money

St.Andrews will not get bowled out again, the batting order will not faulter 2 innings in a row believe you me.

is that what you told the rest of the team at stumps yesterday.batting on the last day will be tougher.if you go for the target set or decide to just bat the day out its going down to the wire.your not home yet.

Faulted once, no reason why you can't fail again. No guarantees in GF's.

Watched both days, very entertaining and tough cricket.

Just a few observations.

At least a dozen catches went down, mainly in the slips cordon from both sides. Some costly ones as well.

Kev Craddock great innings for St Marys, probaly his best and most important innings ever.

Thought Jolley let St Marys off the hook. Why he didnt bring back on Scotty Whernham at the end to clean up the tail straight away was a little strange. St Marys got maybe 50 more than they should have.

Gavin Tapner showed why he is one of the most valuable players in the comp for the past ten years. Great knock.

Just to finish off. For one particular St Andrews players sake, they would want to win. Thought his celebration was way over the top when they passed St Marys. It was great to win first innings (and thats all it was), and sure celebrate but that was too much.

Looking forward to next week. First hour will set the tone .

Anyone who thinks this game is over before its over is kidding themselves....

I remember back to the 05/06 season in B Grade St. Andrews and Merlo fought out a tough 3 days of cricket but at the end St Andrews looked to have the game in the bag needing only 27 runs with 6 wickets in hand. We ended up losing the last 6 for 15 runs.

So anyone who thinks this game is over is kidding themselves - the game is very much up fro grabs and is there for taking its just whoever wants to stand up and take it. Finals Pressure does wierd things to crickers, even very good and talented cricketers!!!

I still have nightmares about that game!!!

I seem to remeber a Grand Final a few years back played between Moonee Valley and Batman StMarks where a star studded Moonee Valley batting order was not supposed to faulter??hope history doesnt repeat itself hey Dave?

Well if we were moonee valley maybe we would worry about that, but knowing that we are St.Andrews i dont think we have to worry about the Mooney valley game as its irrelevant. As for Dave you bet your bottom dollar he will fire this week. Go sainters
