Money Shield 2024/25

I dunno if you have looked around lately but the game is dying at grass roots level

Lower Eltham are competing with Eltham, Mont, Lower Plenty within 4km of each other. They don’t have a footy club connected to it so will always be at a disadvantage to their competitors

The points cap was just an unnecessary restriction placed on clubs when we have never ever had a major problem of clubs building dynasty’s in one off season.

And to go one step further, the parameters of the cap are all wrong anyway. Let’s use Lower Eltham as the test case, the lost 2 former juniors in Stanley and Felton this off season. If they were to head back to Lower Eltham in the future both would head back as 3 pointers. This is 100% incorrect and the rule needs to be amended, any player who heads back to a club they played juniors at should only be 1 point
I just think whether the points were there or not, it changes nothing for lower Eltham. Genuine question were they close to the points cap?

I’m talking about moving forward. Clubs have no chance to rebuild. If they want to bring in 6 new cricketers next year they can’t.
I understand the sentiment, but when has recruiting 6 players in one year actually lead to success? I feel like recruiting numerous players like that rarely works out for the better.

Ok say over two years… remember each player recruited is a minimum of 3 points and they don’t drop a point for 2 years..

Couple of downhill skiers from BP ate some humble pie today. We’re up and about at 6-27 until the gas truck pulled up 😂😂😂
Also what’s with supporters bringing there own esky full of instead of supporting the home club? I thought that wasn’t the way to go?
Must just be a Bundoora park thing then

Why not focus on a 17yo kid who batted brilliantly.

The day any club seeks etiquette advice from rosebank I’ll fall over. Reckon you would have noticed half the BP players get around the young fella when he was finally dismissed, awesome knock.
I heard that the Bundy supporters brought their own booze, now that’s crap etiquette.
More importantly the team I picked to win it is out & there are some rumblings within the club. Watch this space.

Well done, you congratulated the kid coz he bent you over after you got all cocky at 6-27.
