the GCA should assess Stalbans according to their system, if they meet the criteria for div2, put em in, they will be good enough no doubt. dont make em play div 3 just to suit the other sooks in div 3 that want to go up. the best teams should play div 1, the next best 12 turf teams div 2 , the rest in what ever league suits. GCA need to stop licking eveyrones arse and realize they are a turf league and thats it. let other leagues look after themselves. wouldnt even be discussing all this if they just stuck to turf cricket years ago instead of trying to be the almighty saviour for others mess. it has just made it worse, the standard has suffered because of it, prove me wrong, you cant coz its true and everyone on here will agree. and can we please get rid of the gay mature dating adverts, its really pissing me off

These ads would be ahem right up you alley:p

have been told by a st albans figure that they attend to keep appealing the gca until they get the result they want (div 2).can this be confirmed or denied....
was told that their prepared to go to the highest court if that what it takes to get the desired result.

How would going to court get a result? its not as if they have had a premiership taken away from them! They want in, and therefor should and will do as they are told.

1.They don't have an official club championship.

2.I don't know if the BPCA will let us play on turf, maybe another year at Breakwater:(

3.I wouldn't say it's better, having played in both I'd say the top few in the BPCA are as good as the top sides in GCA2.

I know you didn't compare div3 but A good gauge to the BPCA being a lot stronger than GCA3 would be:

When Jan Juc entered the BPCA a few years ago after dominating the SLCA they struggled to win 2-3 games.
The same thing has happened with Barrabool and Anglesea they were so dominate in the SLCA (now GCA3) and neither side in the first couple of years has really got anywhere near the finals.

Jan Juc finished 6th this year and played finals for the first time in the 4 years they've been in the BPCA.

I'm wondering if the gap between div3 & div2 is that big (between top teams in the 1sts) with Guild playing in Div3 GF this year and in Div2 last year with almost the same side. I'm not saying we'd dominate div2 or 3 all I'm saying is we'd be competitive in all grades in div2.

Not sure where you got your infomation from but the teams you mention didnt dominate the slca , there is 2 or3 other clubs from that league that were/are alot stronger . All three of those sides relied on one or two players for them to win games (eg jan juc: muncey and lygo, angelsea:robertson and nolan barrabool wilson and grigg)
Ive had a bit to do with the bellarine and the biggest differance is the depth. Instead of having batting down to say 5 or 6 like most of the div 3 (slca) clubs most ( not all) the bellarine clubs bat right down the order. same with the bowling 2 maye 3 bowlers compaired to 4 or 5 front line bowlers.
I was told st albans will be in div 3 next season and will have to gain promotion the usual way
Also told guild will stay down for all the same reason they were religated in the first place, so maybe nobody from div 2 to get religated this year. Although i have heard wispers about corio being religated.

I'm not too sure about that, don't believe everything you here.

i) It is up to the GCA to accept or deny their application to join the competition and they would then set the criteria or boundaries as to what level they would start at.
ii) St Albans wouldn't be starting off on the right foot if they appealed a decision to be promoted higher than Div 3. ie. Don't cut off your nose to spite your face.
iii)It's not St Albans' right to be in the GCA; it is up to the GCA to accept them. After all, they decided to leave 10 or 12 years ago.
iv)If they start in Div 3, well they are the boundaries that have been set; the same i suppose that no other SLDCA clubs started in Div 2. If they are good enough, they will blitz the competition and move up to Div 2; so forth and so on.
v)If they start off in Div 2; good luck to them, it will make for a stronger competition.

Re: New club Coaches/Captains/Players for 2009/10

I've heard a bit of a whisper that there will be a fair influx of Geelong c.c into the GCA next season (from all grades).

Has anyone heard any names and to what clubs? if it's true.

Re: New club Coaches/Captains/Players for 2009/10

Can now confirm that Andrew Fergusson will be back at North next season.
Worst kept secret in Geelong that one was.
Ross Aylmer will be remaining as coach of the club.
Col Millard will be remaining as captain of the 1s.
