Every decision isn't going to be liked by everyone. Yes reckon it was called why to early! waiting until a 1.30pm start with 35 over game and a 25 over game for the one day comp. Would of been ok
Every other non turf comp played some form of cricket this weekend.
Oh well. Move on to next week
 
Baseballers vs Keon park was a cracker of a game. High standard between 2 good sides. Could of gone either way.
Must say not to disappointed Camrea are where they are on the ladder. Only Spewin they are above Keon park on %

Baseballers must be very high quality getting rolled for 60 odd in round 1 against Camrea

I didn't see that game so I can't comment on how they looked that day.

I would say T20 makes bad players look even worse. Crap format and fixture. Going to have played 3 T20s before a single 2 day game.

Agree. Why the brains trust thought they had to introduce T20 is beyond me. The comp is not strong enough to have quality T20 games. I have seen this comp decline over the years which is sad to see.
It is time for a combined DV/NMCA comp. Cricket Victoria need to step in and tell both administrations to get it done. No doubt DV will be against it given it was attempted years ago without success.

Agree the comp has declined in recent years with the loss of clubs such as HT, Rivergum ,Dennis ,Rosebank, Bundoora Park ,West Ivanhoe going to other comps . Long time clubs Preston Footballers and West Heidelberg folded . Darebin , Lalor and Druids moved on because they didnt like penalties dished out for their part in cricket brawls .
It seems the Board took notice of suggestions by the clubs and came up with a new format . I like the 6 teams in a grade especially for the Jika shield as there is not the depth of talent .
Maybe the T20s could have been fixtured as one dayers but i'm hearing feedback that clubs have players keen for a quick match , have a few beers and go home at a respectable time . The fixturing around long weekends and Christmas is a positive , Todays cricketers are a different breed compared to the past . Its an interesting and different fixture and hopefully if promoted well could attract some new clubs in the future .
Merger ( as opposed to takeover ) with DVCA will happen one day .

Certainly agree with you that today’s cricketers are a different breed. Give me the traditional 2 Day game over a T20 any day. A batsman that builds an innings and plays traditional cricket shots gives me more pleasure than a hack who comes out swinging.
As far as attracting new clubs, if any potential new club does it’s due diligence on the competition, l will be very surprised if they join the NMCA.
