I bet the great man Ada is behind it. Then again moneybank has given united some almighty spankings in the past. Good luck to the boys at alphington park, it always brings a smile to my face when moneybank get beaten.

On NUCC site there are 2 changes to the article on NMCA site, 1bags rosebank and the other praises ada......who wrote that i wonder????

Good on the northcote united boys for beating Rosebank.
They thoroughly deserved the win and good on them for celebrating it hard.

The following line on their website was a bit harsh though on Rosebank considering the wet conditions

'After rain delayed the start and Rosebank CC refusing to take the field in the fear of losing'

Did the Rosebank boys think the ground was unfit for play? Must be the Northern Socials influence creeping in because the true Rosebank boys would have backed themselves to win.

i agree four more they did go running to the tribunal after many problems in the past from from both sides ,but at the same time the player in question did the crime so deserves his wack!
hopefully the 2 sides can put the bullshit behind them and get on with it.

Spoke to a senior umpire and apparently Rosebank were willing to go on only when the strip was in a reasonable condition.

just thought id get on here and clear a few things up 4 u guys commenting on socials v camrea game first of all the ground was like a lake does anyone think we would have played if sat was day 1 conditions of course not the league would have called it of.the umpires didnt even consider the care of duty towards the players the umpires at 1pm said the ground was unsafe to play and also at 2pm and then all of a sudden it was fine at 3pm i dont think so considering we had hailstones and heavy rain between 1pm and 3pm we have no hard feelings towards john he was only doing wot any captain would do in his position.our problem was we wernt going 2 put our players in a position were they could get injured and risk there jobs they have 2 turn up 2 on mondays and there family lives. To finish of the points wernt the reason why we did its was the principle the league and umpires have to take more responsibility towards the players and clubs. if u think relegation bothers us think again we would luv 2 survive in a grade but if we do go down are grade so be it the standard aint much differnt apart from the top few teams if relegation bothered us we wouldnt have put ourselves in the position we did last year and agreed to play on a different ground on 2nd week of our game vs n.united cause there pitch got destroyed we would have just taken the draw and got the 3 pts and that would have saved us the point is its the principle that the ground wasnt fit for play.

You can put what ever spin you want on it but it is only natural that a team that has been flogged won't want to play and the team that needs a wicket to win the game will want to play. We have umpires who ultimately have the responsibility to decide what should happen.
The fact that your club has decided not to respect and follow the umpires decision is a poor reflection on your club and ultimately a poor reflection on the NMCA competition. Your club and any other club or team has a responsibility to respect the umpires decision.
Only one game in Jika Sheild did not get any play on Saturday.

Correct Weight! Crusty either you are accusing the umps of cheating or your club was badly in the wrong! As much as everyone like to ahve a go at rosebank they were looking down the barrel and got out there and played it out showed some guts. Socials not impressive

Mate face facts, you didn’t want to play cause you were getting smashed. Understandable, been in that situation plenty of times but when the umpire says play you play. The competition won’t survive with players and clubs making rules to suit themselves, hence the reason why we have independent umpires.
If care of duty or as the rest of us call it ‘duty of care’ was an issue I don’t believe Camera would put some of the big $$$$ in danger, after all they were the ones bowling. They have as you emotively put it “families and jobs that would be in danger.’ Give it a rest.
Final point. No club wants to be relegated. Your Club smacked teams around for years and now it’s your turn, take it without the drama and the tears.

Re: NMCA(formerly Jika) '08/'09

crusty dont have a problem with you voicing the concerns youre club had about taking the field on saturday but dont have a go at the umpires about duty of care , have a go at the president of the association for not having the spine to make the call . the decision was left up to the umpires and the 2 captains to agree on the conditions i will print you word for word the text msg that was sent on sat at 11.35 am . i would ask that u speak to mr anderson and ask him where the jika executives duty of care to both the players and umpires was on sat. once again the executive has thrown the umpires in the shit and made them out to be the bad guys for making decisions for the executive .i wonder if rosebank had of rolled nth utd for 87 would we have played? what was the president doing drinking piss at alphington park when there was all the crap going down at main st ? what was he doing telling the 2 so called independant umpires MAKE SURE YOU GET A START ! i am sick and tired of the umpires and( i will admit we do get it wrong) being shit canned for every thing that goes wrong in this comp . WE ARE NOT INDEPENDANT WE ARE TOLD WHAT TO DO AND WHEN TO DO IT ! there is a bias towards certain clubs as was the case on saturday . why defend the umpires ? because i am one and sick of copping crap from ill informed people who havent got a clue as to what is really going on in this comp ! shit can me if u want i dont care but a few of u need a reality check as to what is really going on . how would all u guys out there from all the different clubs be feeling right now if at the end of the game youre captain was given the all clear by both umpires only to find out on monday that he has been reported fro unfair play by the president of jika . why ? because he asked the umpires for another 5 mins for the ground to dry out ! i know i was there this is total and utter bias . WHY DONT YOU JUST SAY YOU WANT CERTAIN CLUBS OUT OF THE COMP BILL AND BE DONE WITH IT ! THATS RIGHT I FORGOT YOURE A JELLYFISH - SPINELESS u let every one else do youre job and take all the credit ! :)

In my time with the Socials i have enjoyed majority of it. This is my second year at the club (playing both under 17's and 3rd's). And what happened was rubbish. Now we all know, when we are playing without umpires its going to be a little hard getting decisions your way, in frustration our bowler said something on line's of you've set the standard. The acting umpire then comfronted the bowler in a very agressive manor, with both of his team mates (the batters) trying to get him away from getting himself in trouble, we called for a new umpire and made things worse, he took the bat out of the batsmen hand and if he had gotten in striking range he probably would have used it, this bloke did make contact with our player and continued to argue as he was being escorted off the field. As he was exiting the playing area i said in general "It's Rivergum boys, they havnt changed" (as we have had abit of a rivalry in the past 2 year beating them in last years grand final against the odds, and after we moved up a division i thought that would be the last we had to deal with them), probably not the right time to say it but he turned to me and wanted to continue the argument/fight with myself (a 16 year old, second year cricketer) i got no problems with that, as playing i'm playing with men. But the player then continued to argue with our supporters, which included woman and children.

This behavior should not be accepted in local cricket particulary in 'E' grade the 8th division in NMCA.

The player got a deserved 2 games suspension, even though a 1 match suspension in round 11 would have been more fitting as thats when we play them again. I hope we are given an umpire for the round 11 clash.

Now to call us little kids crying to the tribuneral is rediculous, why should anybody be made to put up with that crap at any level?

maybe u should pull ur head in with derogatory comments towards the rivergum cricket club??. maybe u are the person that fired him up?? ahh i wont say anything cause i have no idea about this incident. but they are actually not bad blokes im told

Re: NMCA(formerly Jika) '08/'09

I think the season is too long, we are all getting a little frazzled. Two more games and we get three weeks off, so take it easy give the umpires a little time they aren't all bad. We dropped 15 catches this game and had two players run out from stupidty. That's 17 definite mistakes, we all get upset when they make one. When the decision to play is left to the umpire he can only be 50% right unless both teams think they can win. If you're not enjoying it don't play.

I never said they wernt good blokes (or meant to say it, if i said something along the lines of that in my previous post), but this is not the first incident that has occured between us and thier 3rd's (thier 4th last year, is pretty much the same team this year), i think the thing that put me off them was last year i was giving abit of talk in the field (As you do) nothing over board, but when i went to say well batted to their captain and shake his hand he pretty much said go away and wouldnt shake my hand, thats what hurt me most playing against them might have been my 10th game or so. And he was fired up long before i said anything.

I dont mean to say everyone from Rivergum is bad, dont mind playing against their juniors, but its just something with their 3rd's from my own experience.

I'm not too worried about the incident, its just that we're being called crying kids, when we are the one's who were abused and if anything similar happens it should be reported to make a cleaner and more enjoyable environment to play cricket in.

Your right young fella its not the first time something like this has happened, the first time was your ump throwing an elbow at our incoming bowler (last season) so in the words of your president that likes to pm other people on this site "pull ya head in!"
As i said in my previous post our player deserved what he got 100% he did the wrong thing ,but in my 15yrs of cricket when an ump gives "not out" normally its the bowler that is unhappy, im yet to see an ump give not out and be so upset by it that it comes to blows! clearly the bowler had something to say so dont paint the picture the other way.
