very true four more...kookies seem to be the ones to beat? strong batting strong bowling. whats happening down at lalor? not often you see them being beat so comprehensivley...should be another good round this week.

we will see how good the "kookies" really are in the coming few weeks missing a handful of players and there key player. lalor look shot for confidence probably should of lost to ycw aswell. cobras up and about, ycw wish they played cricket aswell as their mouthing off and fairfield will struggle mark my words. colts gone cameron gone donath are surprising everyone beating rivergum and lalor in the past 2 weeks and hill hasnt even fired yet

I think that goes for the lot of us, already every game is important so you don't lose touch. I just hope this year we have a couple of teams winning to make the finals not losing to let the other teams in. The 'Kookies' do look the most improved so far. Lalor(choke) treading water at the moment, will definitely bounce back with the players they have got, probably need to give the younger blokes a bit more responsibility. Donath same as last year very steady and make you earn every run. YCW again steady I still think they need to give their young blokes more than one game to settle in. Fairfield will have their days had a couple out this game which at the moment can be the difference between each team.

I think the Kookies though with their youth if they can keep them together are the best bet to compete in Jika Shield next year.

I was pretty shocked to hear about David Plumpton sledging a young 14 year old kid for the Druids on the weekend. What are peoples thoughts? It's only second hand info so I could be wrong.

Doesn't surprise me.............Plumpton is not very humble especially if a 14 yo is batting well against him.....

Rosebank probably think Druids are easy beats as they have thumped Druids time after time since returning to A Grade.....I also see that Druids 2s didn't captitulate to the Rosebank 2s...must be a change of heart at Druids!!!!

Bit of self belief I guess. I didn't think he would be like that although we all react differently. I guess if I couldn't get a young kid out I'd be more angry at myself. We need to foster junior development in this competition otherwise we lose them elsewhere if they are going to be sledged for giving it a go. Brilliant cricketer who obviously was good enough to represent his state but maybe he needs to think of what it was like when he started. Encourage rather than put down as it's not like the Druids were going to win the game was over.

Banger is a great captain & and one of the best players in jika. Trouble is people are jealous of his success as a premiership captain.

Who cares !!! This is serious cricket with big $$$$$$$$$ changing hands.
What is a 14 year old playing jika 1sts, more an indictment on Druids.

Rosebank absolutely do not rate the Druids, i would think.
If 350 is'nt a capitulation what is.

Are you serious with this comment? Why is playing a 14 year old an indictment on any club?

Ramadge can come in and bowl his pies.

Maybe Pickle can come in for some extra batting and weight.

And then there is president Fanta Pant!

you are an absolute peanut, young players are crucial to some teams firsts, if their good enough to play there then good on em, shows how much of a pea brain you have

I don't think sledging the kid would have made any difference to the result, but if he is 14 or 40 what's the big deal.

Your playing competetive cricket and well done to the young fella but ask yourself this..

If your a fast bowler are you supposed to change your pace or even bowl under arm just because he's 14???

The only the way this and all other kids learn is to play hard BUT fair and not to be treated differently just because your young!!

For the record i think the NMCA should implement a policy whereby no players under the age of 16 should be allowed to play in there clubs 1's. I think it's only a matter of time where a youngster will be badly injured.

i don't agree, if a 14 year old is playing a grade he is obviously up to it, a club wouldn't put an incapable kid into that situation
