Have to agree aussie fan. Luscombe= Paco 9 for 204 cc V Syd at Syd good effort by Syd. Roxy have had a good weekend their Muir shield also piling on the runs with 346 V West Meadows at Westy

That is a pretty good effort at sydenham. If sydenham can chase this total down and kealba chase gladdys score down and roxy get a win over buckley park then that will 3 wins from the 3 sides sitting in the bottom 4 and would shake this competition right up.As people mentioned earlier on this site, you can never pick the way the ladder willl end up at the end of the year after only the first 2 one dayers.personally i would like to see these 3 results to happen just for the competitions sake as it would hopefully pan out to be one of the best seasons the nwca has had in luscombe for a while.

Would be great for the Comp as you said. Just need Campbellfield to get a good win on the board and then al teams vying for the four. Obviously clubs need more than the one win but this earl on a win for all would be very entertaining. Taylors look too strong though this week, but the others very interesting:D

Re: North West Cricket Association

Huge effort by russell, he has made more than most of us in one innings.
im sure the roxy boys who have been struggling are very happy to have him back.

GP could be gone vs kealba on that 20c piece.
TL home
Syd to beat paco from here

Looks like the scores just keep getting bigger and bigger each week.ROXY 5-379 against BUCKLEY(massive score considering they havent made many so far this year, what a effort by russell in his first game back, can buckley chase down this target,2 massive totals in 2 weeks that they are guna chase.
Taylors 9-313 against CCC(pretty big score for that ground, who made the runs?)would be a big ask for CCC to chase that down but with the grounds the way they are,who knows?.
Out of the other 2 games only heard a score from the glady vs kealba game which was glady all out for 240 and kealba 3-50.(Quite a suprise here, kealba must of bowled well to keep glady to 240 on gladdys ground, very interesting week next week for this game.Could kealba knock gladdy off and cause a major upset in luscombe or will gladdy step up again.Anyone know any details on the score cards.)
Havent heard nothing from the pacco vs sydenham game

good total by us after being 3 for 25
s.lee (27) and markham (40) took it to 5 for 97
thomas (50 odd) and mcmullin (40 odd) put on a much needed partnership
then with 15 overs to go s.verdoorn went in and blasted up 85 n.o.

Talking to a faw of the CCC guys sat night and they tell me Taylors were 8/200 when Verdoorn came in and he was out caught behind 2nd ball.
(smashed it apparently)
given not out and then hammered 85.
They tell me Budgie was a little upset at being given out also!!

Funny that you say that oldman. I hear that the umps have been having a very ordinary season so far. I have spoken to players from several luscombe teams who have been all saying the same thing. I was told that there was up to half a dozen questionable discisions in the Gladdy - Kealba game on Saturday - Going both ways. I guess you just need to keep your fingers crossed that in the end they will all even out and that they won't change the result of any game.

heard the same stuff...few of the KGG boys told me they were robbed against gladdy... but the NWCA only have 11 senior umpires (so ive been told) so the quality wont be that good... some of u old blokes who dont play should put ur hand up and have a crack!!...it'll save me from having to go out and do it wen i make ************ all runs (as thts the trend so far!!!)

Heard of a couple guys from KGG at the TAB yesterday aswell that they reckon there was quite a few dodgy decisions on the wknd but for both sides. If these decisions were favouring one side then u would hae to question the umps ,but by the sounds of things they are going both ways and just trying to become more involved in the game when they get bored.dont get me wrong, its a great effort to get out there and umpire 80 overs of cricket a day especially when they arnt playing but they have really gotta look at the decisions they give,as half the time these in disputes between all sides in the comp

Yea he's a gun.....saw him play a few years back in the U14s and he dominated with bat and ball.....only thing is (which happens a lot), in the final, he didnt take a wicket or make many runs, and his team lost.....From memory the coach was at Roxy Footy Club U18s as well..........NO luck for this poor bloke came up against syd/hill in both grand finals (footy/cricket) and lost both, poor bloke cant take a trick!!

The kids definatly a freak, and i know a few young kids who are talkin bout playing him now, and i can tell you they have fear!!

Plays juniors for Glenroy

Will add tho, there are many young blokes in the luscombe comp who are very capable, to me Broadmeadows is just a senior team for the kid (compare with Luscombe) its just that Glenroy have a weak (or any??) seniors.

Have to agree with everyone, the standard of umpiring this year has been terrible!! I know it is a hard job but it has dropped of heaps from last year!!

I know there will always be bad decisions, but they seem all to regular this year!!

I am undecided on the current best...

Re: North West Cricket Association

What makes Simon Fenn and Tolli the worst? Poor decisions, lack of understanding the game, funny personalities or something else?

Re: North West Cricket Association

Gladdy Boy your very quiet this week. Bit nervous after the weekends play?

Personally I think your still very much in the game, especially considering the Regouski is already out.
I heard a few of the Kealba boys saying they were lucky to be in the position they are in with gladdy grassing a few chances and a caught behind not given.

Should be an interesting day at Gladdy on Saturday

all of the above..... and something else is poor concentration levels....

-tolli gives LBW decisions from mid on....

I was at a game last year when tolli was umpiring and the batting side played the Benny Hill theme when he walked out on to the ground

i also want to congatulate adrian russell on a fantastic return. not many blokes out there that can return for there first game of the season and make 165 runs.lets just say that there is only 1 adrian russell , only 1 adrian russell.

Re: North West Cricket Association

Would have to agree with the whole umpire thing.

Its not they are bad, but generally inconsistant, fair to say though how many decisions are given when your not out and have been given!!....and then the following week you smash it to the keeper and your not out!........funny game cricket.....percentages = you get yourself out more than a good ball does, and you'll prob have 50/50 in good and bad decisions for the year!!

By the way not trying to push the issue aside, but dont be stressing too much, it will even out!

Happy Hitting
