2 wickets for Sachin!!!! Malik was unlucky but Sachin bowled very smartly to Afridi and purposely bowled wides to stump him. pakistan are in a lot of trouble. Great bowling by India today

all the spinners bowled well today.... the pitch is slow and low bounce so 250 is very good score but now afridi is out so they are in trouble.....the batsman should be batting better because they are defending all balls..... only 5 overs left so we should not let them more than 230.

Seems that India want to get this over and done with as fast as possible.
The early loss of Tendulkar hasn't seemed to have any real effect on the scoring rate and they're still going at near 6 an over.

Indian spinners bowled better than pakistani spinners.When Butt got out and the run rate decreased a lot and they lost track. Most of indian batsman got good runs it was a good team effort. Pakistan fielding was so poor today how did they missed gambhir twice.

Pitch looked slow to me and I thought that Pakistan were about 20 runs short.
Wasn't too impressed with Ahktar, and the Pakistan slow bowlers really didn't have the same impact as the Indian ones.

I felt a bit let down by this game, maybe the hype was too much in the end.
India played well but Pakistan let the Indian spinners dictate the game too much. Malik is still developing as a captain but he needs some help - I wonder how much he gets from the senior players?
Dhoni continues to handle the job well and I'd like to see him take over the reigns of the test side.

That's one thing that has always puzzled me, although he has the game for one day cricket, Sehweg has done better in tests, yet India seem determined to make him prove his worth in the limited overs game before the test team.
The guy averages close to 50 and should be in his peak years, yet the selectors look elsewhere at the likes of Jaffer.

Definately.
In my opinion, he must be in the test squad against Pakistan as the first string opener at the expense of Jaffer. It is now or never for Sehwag.
Jaffer is too inconsistant in test matches resulting in his poor batting average over quite a few tests. Currently, Gambhir has a better FC record (+ is younger) and Karthik and Sehwag have performed far better opening in tests. Jaffer has nothing going for him.
Indian selectors' decisions usually have a smidgen of sense behind them but keeping Jaffer is one of the exceptions.

India won the toss and the right decision to bat in my opinion, but they should have brought Kumar in for Kartik instead of Sehwag. Dew is going to be a factor in the evening. India have started to open up now after a cautious start. 280 should be a good score.
