Pakistan vs West Indies 1 ODI Rawalpindi
A fantastic show in the test series has given Pakistan an edge in the ODI series but the kind of performance the Windies have given in the recent past in the shorter version of the game, gives them an upper hand too.
The great performance by the Pakistanis has been mainly because of the inspiration that Inzamam has brought to the side but in the first game at least he won't be taking the field. He still has to sit out for a match to serve his 4 ODI ban. The inclusion of Kaneria in the ODI side is a good move and there seems to be a good balance in the team.
The Windies have to buckle up and leave their test series defeat behind them. Lara has led the team in an inspiring fashion and things have been very good for them at least in the shorter version of the game. There have been a few changes in the side. Bradshaw and Smith will add a bit of zip to the team whereas the absence of the talisman cricketer Bravo will affect the team adversely.
All in all both the teams are looking in a similar situation and it should be a gripping encounter of limited overs cricket.
Pakistan: Mohammad Hafeez, Imran Farhat, Younis Khan (c), Mohammad Yousuf, Shoaib Malik, Abdul Razzaq, Kamran Akmal (w), Umar Gul, Danish Kaneria, Mohammad Sami, Rana Naved-ul-Hasan, Rao Iftikhar, Yasir Hameed, Abdur Rehman
West Indies: Chris Gayle, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Brian Lara (c), Runako Morton, Denesh Ramdin (w), Daren Powell, Jerome Taylor, Corey Collymore, Dwayne Smith, Marlon Samuels, Dave Mohammed, Ian Bradshaw, Lendl Simmons, Ramnaresh Sarwan (injured)
