The Lounge 2

've downloaded a stack of puzzle games l
Have you? Why don't we play some nice online games together and share results? I like those below. Richie Richie I know you were hesitant but why not make a fresh attempt?

Waffle - https://wafflegame.net/daily
Phrazle - Guess the Phrase | Solitaired.com - https://solitaired.com/phrazle
Blossom, a daily word game - https://www.merriam-webster.com/games/blossom-word-game
Wordle - A daily word game - https://www.nytimes.com/games/wordle/index.html

I play those on a daily basis, not each of them every day but depending on the time I have.
As you said they activate grey matter and are a must for me.

Have the cursed morning insomnia after waking in a lather of sweat from another humid nite.

Two Australian families ill in suspected mass Fiji alcohol poisoning

The incident in Fiji follows a mass poisoning that killed at least six tourists in Laos including two Australians.

Nineteen-year-old Melbourne friends Bianca Jones and Holly Bowles died in Thai hospitals in November of suspected methanol poisoning after drinking tainted alcohol in Laos.

This is becoming an epidemic. If offered a new drink you'd be cautious, yes, no?

Scorchers in Sydney last two days. Today may be the hottest tho. Saying it will be 45 in our
west

I might pass too Thomas as I don't fare well with word puzzles, crosswords especially. Cryptic crosswords bewilder me.
I mostly just play solo logic games like Mahjong. Spatial puzzles and cards especially Solitaire. I usually get through a game in less than 10 min which I can do during cooking. With a new tablet I am able to download a lot of brain sharpening games which I feel I need for my grey matter, just like physical efforts. I swept my yard and mowed my lawn today more for my need of a physical work out.
The only Word game I liked was Scrabble but relied on my maths and tactics to infuriate my old MIL. She and I loved our contests.
She had a scrabble dictionary she referred to for challenges.
In my mind only, she used a lot of what I thought were grunt words, eh? 😄 She was a fine person who I admired greatly.

BTW, i've talked a long time old mate (77yo) into getting one of those 11" Samsung Galaxy A9+ tablets. He wants it to reshapen his own once accountant's mind. He likes numbers too. It's price is down to $254 in four major outlets here now. The base specs are 64gb storage and 4gb ram. That's fine however I saw for an extra $130 the specs can increase to 128gb storage and 8gb ram! That's nice but probably overkill for my friend's needs?
As needed, a cheap 2nd chip could give him lots of storage for all his pics and docs.. Personally, I'd go for the up speced version as the OS and installed Apps would take about 25gb out of the 64gb or the upspeced 128gb leaving 39gb or 103gb . All approximations but the extra power and storage is nice, and future proofing. Future Apps will no doubt keep growing in size.

Are you opting out of our Christmas Eve party Jessica? Wont be the same without you girl.
No worries Jessica.
My Christmas gift to you I had made up by an Alien friend.
It's a cold fusion powered climate control unit that will heat or cool your home to whatever temperature you want. It portable too.
Its battery will last 200 years, and to recharge the unit, just press the "Recharge" button. All free for 10,000 years.

Any where near you Thomas.
Wow, it is. Very near my place. I took my MiL there in late October on one of the last mild days. I hadn't heard of it, though. But that's not surprising since I usually ignore local news. Thanks anyway, mate.
It happened in mid- August. Inflammable material stored under the wheel had caught fire. Maybe a fag was dropped from one of the cabins. Not 30 but 65 were injured.
The festival takes place on that peninsula (gree arrow) and I live by this lake (lilac arrow). A stone's throw by car.

Sorry mate, did not look at the date as figured it was topical.

Oh Thomas a second shocking tragedy for your people and this one during the most religious of all festive events. My heart bleeds 🥺

We're experiencing a hot dry heatwave in Perth with temperatures in the low forties. My evaporative air conditioning works nicely with that.🌬🌝
Unfortunately yesterday I had to go outside to help a friend in trouble. Driving and walking around in scorching heat left me exhausted and when I finally got home I felt quite sick, literally. 🤮 A touch of heat stroke methinks and I'm not as tough as I thought I was. 🏳Lesson learned. Even warning annoucements on the radio are given. Today I'm sipping on Hydralite drinks. 🥤

Have you heard of that?
Using conventional combustion engines, the climate killer methane is modified into green fuel consisting of methanol and ammonia. That would indeed be very helpful. Because you can’t electrify large ships or aeroplanes you need a liquid fuel with high energy density, a low carbon footprint and low costs. Oh those MIT students come up with bizarre ideas. 🤓
Stories like these and others made me believe at an early stage that capitalism is superior to old-school communist systems like those in Europe and elsewhere.

...and a touch of age mate as back in your years in the Kimberly that'd have been the norm for you . Still want to hear more anecdotes from those years, on the Memory Lane thread Terry.

Thanks, mate. It was a psychiatrist from Saudi-Arabia living in Germany since 2006. He posted in the asocial media that Germany was putting Saudis at a disadvantage. Cynically, he used an emergency corridor to plough into the crowd killing five people and injuring more than 200. The refugees and immigrants cause more and more casualties and for a fair number of them, open society has always been alien to them. There's an increasing need now to watch Christmas markets or else they are doomed.
