I also thought of Coronation Street but realised that it's not a series of the 70s, is it? And would it be a drama series? It's not likely to be EastEnders either. So I'm clueless.
How can anyone starring in a 70s soap be in her 60s now?

The actress who plays the character is now 81, and she's from the long running Brit soap Coronation Street 👀

OK, contrary to your expectation, even though we know the name of the soap nobody seems to know the role or actress you're thinking of. :)

As far as I know she has only ever played this character.🤔
Her role in Coronation Street was a pub landlady 🍷🍾🍺

Jess is the upside down icon a clue to your character. The Yanks call Australia DOWN UNDER. Is your character Australian born as not only male actors but several Australian females also worked in Britain in the 60/70s. Several alone stayed after performing in the Aussie stage play Summer of the Seventeenth Doll in the West End.

Cheers Jessica. I read thru all the clues and used to watch some Coronation Street many decades ago.

I loved " Till death us do part" with Alf Garnett the arch bigot. He loved the Queen tho! I loved many of the old British comedy series. "Her indoors"..... , "Alfred!"... "Benny Hill", ...."The Bill" I watched every week with my old Dad, ... " Dad's Army", ...

Ok, I'll have a turn if that's ok. I'm in the midst of a heat wave now so I'll be indoors for the duration. It was 42C today in my suburb and a bit humid too.


I'm thinking of a person who is now dead, but we all most likely know this famous person from especially the sixties and seventies .... and on ...
