Was he a famous sportsman that did, say, part time acting or singing. Perhaps a guest star on tv.

Not one I have heard of Terry. I often rewatch older UK sitcoms. Nothing beats 'em. Last was Ain't Misbehaving with the brilliant Nicola Pagett.

I was fairly close Terry. Ok a sportsman who was prevalent in 60s/70s with an 'entertaining motor mouth. In other words someone who liked listening to his own voice, like some of todays sports commentators. I am leaning towards either a cricketer or as you are from WA an AFL player. No singing or acting Craig, but a famous sportsman who did have a somewhat entertaining motor mouth.
I have an aversion to the Cockney accent."Only Fools and Horses, Minder"
Was he a tennis crack? John McEnroe by any chance? No singing or acting Craig, but a famous sportsman who did have a somewhat entertaining motor mouth.
He did entertain his audiences with his prowess when on view.
I'd not call a tennis player who insulted players and officials an entertainer. I think you nailed him mate. Was he a tennis crack? John McEnroe by any chance?
No, I doubt it since he's a man of the late 70s / 80s actually. People tend to have different ideas of "entertainment", though,I'd not call a tennis player who insulted players and officials an entertainer. I think you nailed him mate.
I know comedians took off his insults and antics to get laffs.People tend to have different ideas of "entertainment", though,
He'd have to be someone universally known such as McEnroe even if people were not tennis fans. No, I doubt

Cassius Clay (Ali)a "very" contact sport.
Cassius Clay (Ali)
''float like a butterfly, sting like a bee''.
I get a chuckle out of this one.
I had almost forgotten about his pre and post fight comments.
Thanks Terry. A good one mate.Well done Craig, it was Cassuius Clay or Mohamed Ali.
Your turn!
What is this all about. Have you actually done that. I once made the mistake of rubbing my eye after accidently getting curry powder on my finger. As a life wisdom tip I advise never going to the loo after you've been chopping up Chilies!
Washing one's hands first helps a bit.
Lived in the first half of last century.Your turn!
Thanks Terry. A good one mate.

Good choice, Terry and a good guess, Craig.Well done Craig, it was Cassuius Clay or Mohamed Ali.
Your turn!
He was even a conscientios objector during the Vietnam war. A true hero sadly missed after losing his battle with his health. Boxing legend Muhammad Ali's cause of death was septic shock, not Parkinson's disease, as many people expected.
