Just had a nice net because it wasn't wet somehow. Bowled some off spin and leg spin just for fun. Started out very slow and scattergun, got everything lined back up and going through the crease towards the end. I was trying an app called fulltrack AI that tracks the path of the ball but apparently put a big, ugly water mark on the videos.
Heres some of the tracking-
The weird arm ball. 2 good balls. Leg spin. Pitch Map.

Start of session:
Very slow, still decent balls with nice spin and dip. I was not going very straight in my follow through so i tried to power through the crease more and it did a good job of quickening and straightening me up. I also practiced some arm balls one of which actually turned and the other took middle stump out of the ground. I also noticed wider balls would drift more because the angle allows it to go a bit more.
I was quite happy with how the ball was coming out and the over spin I was getting.

I cant seem to get the videos in order so I'll send a post after this with the videos, its: start of net bowling (floaty), fixed follow through (pace up), nice flighted ball, arm ball (middle stump), arm ball (turned), wide off break (drift).
And then just the fun videos of me trying to turn a leg break as much as possible.
Damn, you got fulltrack AI? Is it worth it you reckon? I'm thinking of getting it too.
lol I found a video of my bowling from when I started playing cricket and it hurts just watching it.
I can’t post videos on my phone so I’ll just put an image of the release position that tells you all you need to know lol.
Ok so I’ve played around a bit more with FullTrack and it is pretty good.
You can filter deliveries by the way they swing/drift and spin. Also by line and/or length. Think it’s pretty handy for seeing what goes wrong with the loose deliveries.
It also has the pitch map and a beehive (where the balls have passed/hit the stumps) which is also good. You can also see where a specific ball you are looking at is on these.
It does also show the areas for a good, full or etc.
No wrong-un for me Flippers, but one that does break to off, but very little and it's not a ball I bowl a lot.First thing that comes to mind is do you have a wrong un?
If so you could try pitching it just outside off stump and slightly short to try and get him to cut. Trying to cut a ball that is turning into you and not all that wide is a very good way to get out. Especially if you put a fly slip and/or a backward point in.
Bowling outside leg sounds like it could work. Around the wicket could also be an idea but if you get even marginally too straight/offside you’ll probably get punished and there’s a risk of bowling wides if it’s not turning.
And that catch rate actually seems quite low? Does he get more than 20% bowled or more than 20% LBW? That might be something more worth looking at.
How weird is that. At my club - 5 teams at the weekend, so there must be 70 + active players. I'm the only Leggie, there's another in the 2nd XI but he bottles it and hardly ever bowls it and bats now. Oh a new bloke who started playing this week and we'll have to see how he goes once he's been hit for some 4's and 6's. Other than that the 5ths which I play in most - there are 3 finger spinners. The 4th XI has 3 again. The 2nd XI has definitely 2, possibly more and the captain of the 2's took the most wickets last season - finger spin and in the first XI there's - again at least 3 possibly 4. Then if you start looking at all the old boys that only play every now and then there's a couple of good uns. The UK is running alive with em!Yeah, I'm not sure why there are hardly any good offies in club cricket around Australia - yet there are heaps of leggies, and it is only really the offies who make the domestic and international sides. Yeah true, shouldn't be driving anything shorter than a half volley against a spinner, need to stop that.

I'm the only leggie at my club although there is a guy who mixes off spin and leg breaks. He's very good at it, doesn't turn them much but enough and is pretty quick through the air with excellent line and length. He gets a lot of wickets and doesn't go for many runs. There is also a left arm off spinner. We have some good spinners.
Some of the opposition have leggies, I prefer it when the oppo doesn't have one in their team although I do enjoy watching other leggies. One thing I seldom see is them bowling variations, though. I've never seen anyone else bowl a flipper and nobody has ever picked mine or asked what it was.

I had another 40 over league match today for the 2nd team away to the top team in the division (their 1st XI). I bowled 9 overs 0 maidens (standard haha) 51 runs 3 wickets. They got 196/4 from their forty overs. We were fielding first and the top order bowlers bowled fairly economically. One wicket fell and then I was up. I got their number 3 out LBW, then the next ball appealed strongly for another LBW which I think pitched in line and was hitting leg but the finger did not go up. I think he thought it was out, but he didn't want to give two LBWs against his team mates in two balls.
Next over I was bowling to their opener, he was on 48 and chose a bad tactic of charging me every ball. I think he was watching me from the non strikers end and had decided I was too slow, so he went at me every ball. The first few he got singles from but then I bowled one a touch flatter and shorter and it comfortably beat him, he was stumped miles out of his crease.
Then I had a ropey over when my bowling arm wasn't coming over well, the timing was not there. I think this is related to my front foot, it's something I've noticed in the nets and I think the cause is delivering the ball too early before my front foot has landed properly. I sorted this out and improved and then bowled another right hander.
After that I met my match, a big guy batting at 6 came on and my last two overs went for 21 runs.
I'm still really happy overall, though, it was nice to get wickets against the team who are likely to win the division and get some top order batsmen out, a real confidence builder despite being whacked at the end.
I'm afraid that in reply we were bowled out for 16! I faced two balls and finished 0 not out.
My figures for the season:-
Overs 20.1
Maidens 0
Runs 93
Wickets 8
Sounds like a good game for you even if you didn't get the win. Always good to get a few wickets against a really good side.
I'm on 20-5-40-3 economy of 2 - strike rate of 40. Bowling well, just not getting wickets - had 2 dropped in the last game.
