No surprise Terry as he began his career in repertory theatre which is a hard but fulfilling grounding in the dramatic arts, as I too did some rep theatre in my pre marriage days. Also surprised he did not attend RADA, probably because the war intervened, joining the RAF after the London Blitz. His career took off after the war with work in the West End. You have made it in stage acting when you reach the WE.

He also had a role in Mrs Colombo Jess, and episodes in Twilight Zone and The Outer Limits during his American phase before he played the psychiatrist in five Halloween films. I was not aware he was in both the Great Escape and the sequel...

I will drop a couple more hints on my American sporting lady before I attempt more sleep.

It was in athletics then golf where she excelled. After blitzing the fields at the United States Olympic Trials (track and field) she qualified for five events for the 1932 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.

I didn't know that there is a sequel to the Great Escape. I'll have to look out for it 😃
 
I got so stuck on Dennis Price as DP that I thought Nah he never played Blofeld.
Anyway Donald looks like he actually might like Persian cats.

He was born to play Blofeld, am surprised the producers did not use him in the sequels. He made a film here too in the 70s, A Wake in Fright, played a alcoholic doctor from memory. A typical brilliant performance. Filmed in WA I think.

Anyone have an idea who this is? She has to have been one of the most versatile sports people born in the US as after the Olympics she took up another sport, golf. Tho a late comer to the game she had a natural flair for it, so much so that she was America's leading female golfer in the 40s and early 50s..
Her nickname was 'Babe' named after Babe Ruth of baseball fame.

I find that hard to believe of someone who was named among the TOP 20 American athletes in history.. She created a golf tournament in her home town, reckon older residents would remember that.

Well, that was a quote since I'm not qualified to make such a statement. Thanks for introducing her to us. She seems to have been a remarkable person.

No one can take a rest here mate given that there are just the few of us. :thumbsu: I can try and think of another person/character but wouldn't make a good Quizmaster in general.
