Re: Indian Premier League
How flat are the batting tracks? 200 is being scored in nearly every match. Three 100's have already been scored in just the 10 matches so far. This isnt good for cricket.
Contrast swing
I read this rather long but fascinating article on Cricinfo, which explains the science behind swing bowling. It introduces a new concept called contrast swing. I've never heard of this before. Is there any truth behind this theory? Has anyone seen something like it or...
Re: Pollock Retires from international cricket.
He finished his career on a high. Winning the Man of the Series award in your last series has got to be pretty special.
Re: Retirements
Too many players retiring at the moment. New Zealand's test team is already weak due to the retirements of Astle, McMillan, Cairns in the recent years. Also Bond is no longer eligible to play. They are in a lot of trouble.
Re: South Africa v West Indies
Wow! Gayle and Chanderpaul, their two best batsmen, are batting for the last wicket partnership. West Indies could be in with a chance if they can get the lead up to 200.
Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy
The match is most likely heading for a draw. India have a few problems with their batting but its very hard to get past their middle order, but it is possible. They will depend heavily on Laxman, Tendulkar and Ganguly as the others are out of...
Re: Rate The Above Cricketer
8.5/10
Got a duck today but has got a great start to his career and he has to ability to continue performing the same.

Re: Australia vs India - Border Gavaskar Trophy
Brad Hogg made a valuable contribution with the bat. If he bowls well then it would be pretty hard for MacGill to make a comeback. Symonds was brilliant. He is still unbeaten so Australia have a good chance to score something like 450.
India has...
Re: England v Sri Lanka
Less than 3 per over is very slow. They are giving themselves lesser chance of winning. They dont need to bat at faster if they want to draw the match. They'll win the series and go to number 2 by drawing this match so they probably dont care.

Re: Cricket Australia; Day/Night Tests?
They will have trouble sighting the red ball. I think they might try the pink balls.
Are these going to be official Test matches?
Re: The Batting Stance Thread.
I always place my bat slightly behind the backfoot. I generally bat with a open ended stance. Sometimes when I'm playing defensively I opt for a more side on stance.
Re: England v Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka's run rate is poor. They are going at the same rate as in the last match. England will need to get their runs quickly when they bat. Not been a good day for England so far.

Re: The cut
I think you'll only edge it when you misjudge the bounce or aren't into position in time.
Some sound advice from manee. Playing it late is the key.
Re: Pakistan vs India
I agree that Misbah-ul-Haq is more passionate than Shahid Afridi about playing for his country. Afridi goes out and just throws his wicket away. He doesn't deserve as many chances he gets. He bowls well against weak players of spin. But I cant see him causing much damage...
