Re: Unfair bowling
apologies, 5 seconds is the recommended 'waiting' time before commencing your run up. And i believe that in this case, the umpire is to blame, since he is supposed 2 hav his arm our until the batsman is ready anyway
Re: BigCricket Fantasy Cricket League - A Brief Overview
How are matches and results simulated? What software is used? I'd like to do something similar with some of the guys in my club for a side project

Why I should be signed? Because I can do what Shane Watson can't and I can serve beer quicker than your best bar maid, but I won't look as good while I do it
Re: Tips, Drills and Advice: Add an umpires section
My idea was to allow those of us who umpire to chat about laws, decisions we've made based on our interpretations of the laws. Since cricket's laws seems to have a lot of grey-areas, I'm sure there have been altercations between umpires and...
Umpiring Biffs and Arguements
Last season I was umpiring a match between two clubs in my local district. At the time, I was officiating from Square Leg and one of their fast bowlers bowled a waist high full tosser that clipped the top of leg stump.
Our competition states that you can bowl 2...
Tips, Drills and Advice: Add an umpires section
Hi,
Not sure whether or not there is an 'umpire' sections, but i reckon it would be good for those of us who 'run' the game.
Any takers?
Re: Should Mike Hussey retire?
u really have an inflated sense of your own self-importance.
International Cricket Council - Match Zone - Team Ranking
Look at this you self-righteous pain in every Australian's ass. Even though Australia are ranked 4th, England are still ranked 5th. EAT IT!!!
Re: Why i think Australia lost the Ashes
if ur such a genius, why arent you captaining England? I would say all brawn no brain, but its really no brawn, no brain
Re: Retirements in cricket, how to.
I agree with you mate. Unfortunately, cricket is a game of chance and if luck isn't on your side, you're gone. The only way that Australian cricketers get a send off is if they leave on their own terms. Dizzy was dropped, taken to Bangladesh and then 'left...
Re: The Next Powerhouse?
I'll disagree with you there. Sri Lanka have rarely beaten South Africa, India or Australia, Australia have kept India quiet recently, New Zealand had the wood over England and England just bet Australia. I'll agree with you that RSA are certainly the best test team...
Re: Wrist Spin & Captaincy
You all mention how Wrist Spin is important, but us offies can do just as much damage. It doesn't have to spin 3 feet to bowl someone; it only needs 3 inches. I do however agree that there are trade off's between the two; leggies can't always burn down that...
Re: left-armers
Here's something that I have tried and has worked for me. If a leftie is coming over the wicket, open up your stance so that any ball on your legs can be put away; however, be careful for the ball outside off-stump, you need to readjust your footwork and it may look untidy. If...
Re: left-armers
Left arm bowlers are the spawn of satan, so don't feel too bad. practice against them in the nets and work out a method :) good luck buddy
Re: Batting order.
champ...potential all-rounders are a big problem in teams; sometimes they think they are better than they really are and thats when problems have occured from within teams. Chat to coachy and see what he says
Re: Unfair bowling
Laws of cricket state that the batsman must have given the bowler attention for 5 seconds before the bowler can commence the run up. I am assuming that this was a junior team, so as you being the coach, you have the right to remonstrate if your batsman has been cheated...
Re: How we lost the Ashes & How to fix it.
well mate, you make some good points :) but i think Johnson has copped alot of (undeserved crap) because of this lack of form in England. He has been our best bowler for the last 18 months and all that was wrong was his wrist in the wrong position...
