Australia in South Africa

Not a truer word has been spoken. I listened to his crap earlier this evening, squealing about Red-nut getting a game ahead of Nude-nut. Typical Sydney-centric ignorance.
Kram & Bundy: No excuse for you though. Does anyone care to know McDonald's First Class bowling average is clearly better than Bollinger's (this season and ever)? Who said McDonald is a part-timer - or is that just because he can bat? Which brings me to the next point: Doug can't ... at all. Anyone looking at the figures and the Test debuts would consider McD is going to be better value than Bollinger.

You honestly think McDonald's military pace bowling is good enough to help us take 20 wickets as the 4th bowler? Against the best Test side in the world?

I have nothing against the bloke and hope he plays well but it had to be either him or North, we are too short on bowling with this side IMO.

Maybe batting as well?. The point is he's played one match, if Hughes fails in the second innings I'm not going to get on here and bag the shit out of him, because he's played one match. And Geoff Lawson is a goose.:D

Re: Australia in South Africa

McDonalds capable I think, give him at least 4 or 5 matches before we pass a judgement on him, he bowled well in Sydney, and I think with his First Class performances he could be a good player for us. If only he could pick up 10km/h.

Do we think Dirk Nannes is a bowling option in the near future?

Both are too old. Nannes is almost 33 if I recall.

Mid twenty's i thought. And looks a good prospect, bit of pace lot of bounce . Like that ball in the one dayer's that stuck in the batters grill. Very nice.

I thought he was mid twenties as well, thats why I mentioned him.

McDonald would want to bowl very well.

Re: Australia in South Africa

North looking great. 85* at lunch. Hopefully he can go on and get a first innings ton.

Re: Australia in South Africa

Yeah, Australians batting cautiously at the moment, but doing a good job of it. North looking very steady on debut.

Re: Australia in South Africa

Enough of all this Australian jibber jabber from me, Steyn is bowling well, 4/96 off 28, with an economy of 3.42.

Bowling well and taking wickets, he's the danger man.

Re: Australia in South Africa

He's recovered. His first spell was special, he second terrible. Back to bowling well.
