Saw Knowlesy playing for springbank but didn't talk to him about cricket. But I could tell that something was up. Didn't know what though. I could tell by his body language that something was stressing him.

Must have been serious if he was stressed about cricket while getting thumped by a Creswick side full of nufs like you hey pidge?

I was goal umpiring the game mate. I don't play footy....... I umpire it instead.....:D
Springbank are pretty ordinary though.

If Knowlesy does go anywhere I reckon it will probably Ballarat-redan.

Except that Ryan Knowles was the subject of discussion and he doesn't play for Springbank. That was his brother Tim Knowles.

Pidge knowlesy left Ballarat Redan to go back to Brown Hill last year and while I'm not saying it won't happen I doubt he will be playing at the two swords this year...

i spoke to Ryan after he left Ballarat-Redan and he said that if he was not enjoying Brown Hill he would like to return to the Combine since he enjoyed his time there.

I seriously doubt that he would leave again after only giving it one year back at the Hill. Who knows though. the city oval has drawn him back once this year, perhaps it will reel him back in during cricket season.

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association

the one club that everyone seems quiet on is coronet. surely after the past couple of seasons that they have had, they are very active in recruiting, yet im yet to hear of anyone been approached by them. anyone heard any news. napisan, im hoping your club is active, the club cant just accept finishing near the bottom year after year...

p.s. this is not a dig at the club, this is a 'i hope they are recruiting to improve themselves' post.

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association

So, what is the go with Bambury? Is he leaving the GCA to come back to the comp? As far as I know the guys in the GCA would be happy to see the back of him. Not liked by most but that is no surprise. Mind you he did settle in well at Lara as they have a couple of other players with the same personality!

I don't like to call people names on here or sledge others but I am just about to call you the biggest square on this forum. You take everything way too seriously. You try and tell people off all the time all because you don't agree with them. These rumours are just rumours at the moment. They aren't factual so I would like it if you stop acting like the biggest square in the forum and learnt to chill out a bit instead of dobbing on others who disagree with you all the time.

No I don't have a crack at others, love. Just you.

And Ryan plays for Redan footy club too.

I know of about 4 or 5 coronet guys that are interested in playing elsewhere this year and while they are not regular ones players I'm pretty sure they have played a few senior games and play in the twos a fair bit.... probably doesn't do much to the ones but hurts the lower grades heaps...

Coronet is trying to recruit and may be able to gain a couple of good 1's players but its still early days. we will be without Neil Miller who opened the batting for most of last year and had a good year which will be a big loss. Nathan Clarke has also signalled his intentions to play for Lucas with his brother. Its fair to say that we need 3 or 4 good new players if we are to be a chance at finals. Last year we turned the corner a bit but we really need to improve on that if the club wants to go anywhere in the future.

Alex's name has been linked with Redan along with birkett. both would be huge losses to us. Hopefully we can convince them to stay.

Why do you think players leaving Coronet are going to B/Redan? I mean, from a few years back chance could have it they can go to any club (maybe excluding darly) but they have just about all gone to B/redan. Weird.

Alex Mac is one that I know of and the other 4 named would be big losses for the club cause unless I'm mistaken they all play 1's and 2's for coronet...
