It seems things have remained a little heated in my absence.

Well said wophead. You obviously are the voice of reason down there.

It is amazing how thing's escalate when people don't have the club's best interest at heart.

Frontbum, still getting on the 'front foot' again I see. Be careful the ball doesn't jump off a length, if you can't play the shot put it in the bag.


On to more important things.......who will win at the weekend?

Redan to beat wendouree
Hill to beat East
Mt Clear to beat Naps
Point to beat Coronet (don't care how many players are gone)
Darley to beat North

I just got a PM from SteveO who is from Golden Point. I hope that you guys are able to give him some time. He has got something to say.

Yeah I got one also. I think the was just trying to get some of his 'players' into line. I think he was a bit worried that the Frontbum character had overstepped the mark and discredited his club.

Apologies to all for the rubbish from one of our blokes on this site. I've given my group the word at training that it is to stop now and I'm certain it will. Good luck to all for the season. Wendouree look strong again, as do Redan and Mount Clear (I hear very good reports on Matt Goonan). Brown Hill look dangerous. Surprised to see in the paper Hoppy has finished up at North too. Great player. Over and out.

i haven't heard a great deal about Goonan, i think he was from Colac though.
i saw that he was cleared from Redan but sources there had never heard of him

Trained with us once and signed a rego form. He is from Colac, Sean Lynch knows him from there and tells us that he can play the game. He looked decent in the nets for his first hit for a while, can bowl a bit too.

I dunno about your sources Shakes, they mustn't be too reliable coz we know what he's about. He now lives directly behind the Mt. Clear oval and plays footy with some of the boys from the cricket club so it was only fair that we cleared him. Just hope he doesn't tear us apart when we play them.

Wendouree have named a strong side, will be a handful for us without Simmo in the team, especially on Park 8. Spoke to Dipper on the phone last night and he mentioned that their preparation hasn't been ideal, but to Wendouree's lofty standards I think it's still more than the rest of us. They're way too professional to go in with underdone blokes.

Vic Park, you will need to be on the spot.
They have plenty of hitting power and could be very dangerous there.
I'd imagine that you would enjoy the small grounds too

Fair chance of that. I think even both number 11's would be fancying their chances on any VP ground to be honest.
Speed demons Jarrod Allan and Eamon Johnson will have to be really on the spot straight away, not to mention the slips cordons and anyone behind the wicket being awake.

what's worse vp8 or sparrow? what's wrong with white flat? did that get used last year at all?

It could be way too hard for anyone to play cricket on. Don't forget we are in a drought at the moment. Some of those grounds won't be suitable to play cricket on.

Having 18 grounds unavailable for round one is a joke and who wants to play cricket on a Sunday. Surely the council could have started top dressing a few of the grounds a month ago

oh well now you know what it feels like during the footy season when there are no grounds that can host footy matches.
It is the water restrictions that cause the problem. However we need them other wise we won't have any water ourselves.
