Waka05, thought you would be the last person to get personal here...

One of the closest seasons in living memory and all we can come up with is " Is district comp part of the BCA?"

How about some cricket talk, kids !!!

Lets start with selections for this week...... my selections listed first

WENDOUREE v Naps

MOUNT CLEAR v North

DARLEY v Coronet

EAST v Ballarat Redan

POINT v Brown Hill

Not getting too personal Garnoo, I don't know who Jimmy is, just have a hunch that an injury may have held him back that's all.

Onto the tips for this week.
NAPS in a small upset. Knowing Pyke and Johnno are coming back I think Naps may have something to prove and will dig deep.

Mt. Clear easily, especially now with Xavier Watson out. Does anyone know if he's OK?

Darley should beat Coronet at home (wait for the Darley boys to comment on that at my expense)

Here's a conflict of interest, will I get raked over the coals for saying on paper and on form East should beat my mob? I think it's fair to say we aren't travelling too well with a depleated bowling attack and a few of our batsmen out of form, although in saying that this could prove to be the match of the round.

After playing Brown Hill on Saturday I'd have to say Point should storm home in this one. Especially after being informed that the Hill clan may be weakened by work commitments on Sunday's.

Sorry WAKA05 .... thought "wrist injury" was implying something.

Think Coronet are at home this week against Darley too .... if not Sat/Sun anyway.

So who are actually the IN-form batsman at your mob .... no-one springs to mind

Well who would have thought that with 4 games to go that there would be 7 out of 10 teams fighting for a spot in the finals....i suppose with the exception of Mt Clear and East 5 sides can go either way...
Waka05 im sure the Darley boys will be feeling some Waka05 love this weekend knowing that you have faith in them...Good bait all the same...
So tips for this week are
East to beat B/Redan - East are proving to be the ones to beat for mine
Naps to beat Wendouree - Johnson would have lost confidence getting smacked all over the park in QLD and Pyke's form not that good all season.
Mt Clear to beat Nth outright - Way too strong
Darley to beat Coronet- Cape returns with some form in QLD
Point to beat B/HillPoint to smash B/Hill all over the park...White to fail though...That one is for you Jimmy:)

this round could prove to be the make or break for several teams...the rain has prob helped make this one of the closest competitions in years. tips for the week are:

East to beat B/Redan- some how east are provin too good for most
Naps to beat Wendouree-naps are due for a bit of luck and wendouree has yet to really click as a team...
Mt Clear to win on first day- unless batting first then prob to make 400
Darley to beat Coronet-steenholdt to make 100
Point to beat Brown hill-point just too strong although hill could make the upset

East to beat B/Redan- East are looking the goods. Who have they got to cover Collier?
Wendouree to beat Naps- Wendouree are a class act and have the strongest batting team by far. They havent clicked as a team yet this season but if they do, they will be the team to beat.
Mt Clear to beat North- Although not as convincing as everyone thinks. Mt Clears bowling attack is depleted with Blake, Collishaw and maybe Kentish not playing.
Darley to beat Coronet- Coronet bat too slow
Point to beat Brown hill- unless Sven and White dont make any.

Shows how much notice I take of the comp, Darley to still beat Coronet at Grammar. Although if Wheels and Burnsie can get some early ones they'll be in for a big show.

The in-form batsmen at our mob would be................Whinney, he got a dodgy LBW which happens, he was looking fantastic on Saturday before that. Laney got some along with Skontra but both blokes haven't had much batting for a while (as have we all). The rest of us I guess you could say aren't digging in and creating partnerships. If blokes like myself can harden up and stick around for a bit longer then we'll be a big chance of knocking off East and getting some momentum up coming into the finals.

Another hard luck story Waka...

I'm starting to believe the boys down the highway might be right about something for once...

C'mon now fella, don't be like that. It's seems as though you're posting things on here to get the hype up about those boys down the highway. Did you notice that everyone ignored your post "Good point Wise Man. On the same train of thought whats the go with everyone talking about Darley at the moment? They've won a handful of games in the past few seasons yet they are one of the most talked about clubs on here..."
I think we're all over talking about them mate. Slag me all you like, I enjoy it, but get something of your own to get into me about, none of this "Sook" business. We've established the fact that I'm a sook, let's move on.

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association

lets talk about cricket and not slaggin each other here boys?

Good call bloke. I think we all knew Mt. Clear would be the team to beat, Wendouree suprising a few with some sub-par performances by their standards.
Didn't think Point would be in the mix with a mass exodus but credit to them for sticking it out.
Darley, like people have been saying, won a handful of games with a couple of recruits but with the close proximity of 7 teams on the ladder it's difficult to get a gauge on where every team is really at.
Brown Hill, North, Coronet are about where we thought they may be.
East, we all know they have the talent and it would seem that it's all coming together at the right time.
Naps are Naps, all potential and need to show it. Glimpses of big things but lapses have cost them.
That leaves us, struggling for consistency, lacking quality bowlers through injury, but potentially still a very dangerous team. We were written off all last year, finished on top of the ladder, were still written off in the finals but have a medal each and a shield. Be wary...........

Well we all knew that Mt.Clear would be strong, East have been the same for the last few years. I think I am most suprised that Wendouree aren't going that well with the players they have got!!!

And of course Ballarat Redan are a better side than what they are showing.

Darley were always going to slide back down the ladder where they belong and coronet city will struggle for another win!!!

Brown Hill seem to be slipping along with North, loosing two big names has not helped them!!!

Naps are there abouts, they have quite a good list as well.

Go the Pointies tho, I heard earlier in the year people saying there were no positives at the club....well think twice I say!!!

Pidgeon. The district competition does form part of the BCA. Whilst it is a separate competition it does fall under the BCA banner and is administered by the same people that run the club competition. Ballarat clubs such as mt clear, naps & wendouree even have their 5ths teams playing in the district comp so comparing it to the central highlands footy league isn't exactly true. The central highlands footy league is independant of the BFL with its own board etc.

NO it doesn't.

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association

pidgeon this is over we have come to the agreement that no one cares about this.

what are your thoughts on the season so far to get you onto a better topic?
