i can understand mt clear maybe wanting to do that, if blake and kentish are in there last seasons in ballarat cricket, they may want to go out as premiers

don't know if you take in what you read, i never said that they should be doing it, or that i agree with it, but i can understand why they would be wanting to do it.

you are able to understand certain points without having to agree on them

I guess you know all the info then. Cause from what i heard Blake has been in the process of setting up in Qld so thats why he has been coming back and its his work the has been paying for him. Now that he is not getting flights supplied you will see he wont be back until hopefully finals. Kentish has been coming back off his own back and you will see that once his job starts he will not be around either.

Lets face it whether we like it or not cricket is becoming like football, clubs are starting to work harder getting sponsors and the like to generate income so that they are able to offer players something....My thoughts are that if a club does go out and pay someone to play for thenm the payment should be based on performance only...so if they perform then they are rewarded....
This flying players from interstate is all good but they would want to perform otherwise the players and the club will be open for some good sledging and should be embarrassed

the other thing is you aren't allowed to pay players in ballarat cricket

if clubs are paying players and the bca gets wind of it, this could become interesting

they have no chance of discovering it & penalising clubs. its far to easy to hide it. its well known that a very recent 'back-to-back' premiership side was full of players that werent 'home grown' & they may have been getting a little something to help that club achieve its success.

I couldn't see mt clear being that desperate to pay for flights etc. They would like to think that if a player is willing to leave the club they could win the flag without him.

Mt clear don't win games from the performance of Blake or kentish anyway its their batting that gets them over the line.

well aparantly thats not the case coz hes coming back for the finals according to the don. explain your theory about not needing him to the bloke that replaced him for the 2nd half of the season only to be shafted come finals time.

this may be the case, but they dont make scores bigger than anyone else, it is hard to try and chase the runs against them or make the runs as they have a quality bowling line up.

might be a good chance for the youngsters at the club to get some experience though

Don never stated the club was paying for the flights for his return come finals. He may just want to fly back.

Rumour has it your mate will be a surprise selection for the combine come this Thursday night, after some trouble at Lara.

Can you confirm or deny, Waka?

If that's the case It will be for my spot. Even though my spot is on the line with my performances there will be a vacancy (or several) if my old mate is made available. I don't think our chairman of selectors or Captain would be stupid enough to seriously consider that selection.

good point big guy about teams finding it hard to chase runs but I reckon if they put in the likes of cam snowden and collishaw they could still win becuase they don't rely on blake and kentish guys to take 5 wickets each per game.
