actually champ, i wasnt agreeing with you, if you notice my previous post was edited by the admins, but thats another story.

now excuse me if this next set of names mean nothing to you, i understand you move in different circles.

word about at several clubs....

darley have lost capey to work in melb, but have gained the services of morrey from point who has shifted there for work.

naps will appoint one of their younger players as skipper next season (& banners is being considered so he is playing).

mt clear in a real quandry as to who to appoint as skipper. our regular poster in the don is a chance, but dont be surprised if they turn to jeffers for a year until it becomes clearer who is the next leader.

north have spoken to plenty, but landed none at this stage. hoppy no chance of a return.

and eamon is not going to melb, nor sammy.

Interesting that re Moorey - would then think Point will be week seeing as Stevey O will be opening the batting & the bowling.

Younger player from Naps??? If they lose Walter and Leech who are their other bats besides Scott, Sandwith & Corden?

Who's going to step up with the ball for Mt Clear no Blake, Kentish or Stephen will be hard to fill.

We've heard talk that Pete Moore is being heavily chased by Darley.

Unfortunately for Darley, Pete has only played with us for the last two years consecutively, therefore if he did want to go down there (which he hasn't indicated to me or the club), after we would knock back the clearance the BCA would not even look at an appeal.

You need to have played 3 consecutive years at the club leading up to a clearance. The rules changed a year ago.

So while he won our bowling average last season, had a great year socially at the club and may open the bowling with his little brother at Point, I don't think we have much to worry about.

By the way, while we're on clearances, does anyone have Capey's mobile number? I had a number for him that I've been trying to get onto him with but looks like I'll have to use his home number.

yes that 3 year rule is in steve, but there is also the exceptional reasons clause & im pretty sure that shifting to darley for work will get thru on that condition

I do not know if it makes a difference or not but will you be able to use the relocation card when every second game they play is in Ballarat. I know it makes it easier for training and the likes but if you are going to have to travel to play you may as well stay at the club that you are already with.

Here are the rules on clearances in regards to playing 3 years at a club. If Moore has played a total of 3 years in senior cricket then I don't think you could stop the clearance. It doesn't say 3 consecutive years, just 3 years. Assuming he has played atleast 6 days in each of those 3 years.

d) The player has not completed the same number of seasons in Senior Cricket as he has played in Junior Cricket with the Club to a maximum of three (3) seasons after completing Junior Cricket. (Pennant Committee records are deemed true and final).
(e) The player has not played in 6 days per season in each of the three (3) years with the Club from the date he is registered by the Association or cleared from another BCA Club.

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association

The BCA have recently sent out proposed rule changes for the coming season. One of which is that a player can only drop down one grade per week instead of two as in previous seasons (e.g 2's to 4's). What are people's thoughts on this? I think it will make it tougher for clubs to field teams.

darley have lost capey to work in melb, but have gained the services of morrey from point who has shifted there for work.

Young plugger cape has moved into the family penthouse at docklands and is working down there (will still play) but the big cape is moving into his newly built house in bacchus marsh on the weekend. No point driving to melbourne t play cricket unless you get paid truck loads and that doesnt happen in cricket circles.

safe to say that both capes will be in the blue & gold of the Darley lions this upcoming season.

Poor rumour that Cobber

Recently spotted Ryan Knowles and Sam Giblett having a discussion at a local cafe with one P.Huntly. Apparently very close to signing both lads. Jason Knowles is said to follow if all goes through

Yeah i heard that. Also Matt McMahon, a footy mate from Redan is to sign with North if they go as a real sweetner to the deal. McMahon is an opening bowler and is super quick. From all reports up there with Blake and Hopkinson quality wise. Look out for North this year, they could be the shock of the decade!!!

have not heard that one. which club this time?

Is this another rumour started by Bambury?

I would be very surprised if he did not stay at Lara for at least one more year.

I am not surprised to hear about that. Hammer is working pretty hard for North and if he can sign a few of these guys that he is rumoured to have been talking to North will be a big improver.

still a lot of work to do down there though.

Will they have a turf home ground next year?

Trust me it wont be The Don putting on the 'big C' this year. Big news off the rumour mill. Hammer is not the only one taking out gents for coffee. Rumour has it that the great C Bambury was seen having a hot chocolate (not coffee) with Graeme and Paul Jeffrey. Could this be a great recruit, or a big mistake. Putting players like Chris and Paull in the same team has disaster written all over it.

Nothing better than seeing two guys competing in the same team. I am sure that if the rumour is true that Bambury is coming back to play for mount clear, that he would be welcomed back with open arms.
Dont' forget there are some really good factors to move away from Wendouree.
Nothing to do with the club, but when living in Wendouree you can smell McCains and that can be a distraction.
There are a heap of ferals who live in wendouree.

Mount Clear you don't get any idiots annoying the crap out of anyone there. You don't have to put up with vulgar supporters or the smell from any of the factories and you can't smell the shit farm that is just up the road.

Oh and if Bam Bam is still working down in Geelong, he only has to travel an hour to get to training. @|
