could be an interesting attack to face, lewis moore and cape! if there batting holds up could be early season favourites.

Chris Bambury will never play at Darley. Capey wouldnt let it happen. If he is only guaranteed one wicket a year it is that of Bambury (when he played in the league). The big red head always gets the burnt white man out. Bambers left the league so he had to snick him out at Vic country duties.

If mick Lewis plays with the great blue & gold there is no way i am going training. With my lower grade batting ability i might get killed. Would be awesome for the club though.

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association

Been reading this stuff for a fair while now but can no longer keep quiet after the Don's recent post. Don, i hope you are talking out of your arse, or just stirring the pot. What on earth would the Mounties want with C Bambury!! Is this the same C Bambury that has a suspended sentance hanging over his head for abusing a kid who was umpiring a juniors game. No doubt he is a quality batsmen, but fringe human being. Dont think the old heads at the Mounties will approve of having a 'blow in' come in and take charge. Many 2nd + 3rd generation players wont be happy i bet. The Mounties don't need him anyway. Won their last two A grade flags without the 'blow ins' and with kids that have come up through the juniors. Exceptions i can think of are Old Jonny Woodhead, Kentish and Fletcher (not sure about Fletcher, help me out there Don) Should take a leaf out of the Pointyheads book after they lost a few blokes last season and play the kids. Sink or swim. Does anyone out there remember Paul O'Neil?? Played for Naps then Mount Clear a long time ago? By all accounts same 'personality' to C Bambury if you get my drift.

happy to join....great idea.

although those that stuck up for pidge may want to stay & talk about the grass.

do people really believe that brown hill would clear the 2 knowles & giblett all to 1 club. no club in their rite mind would lose 3 a grade players!!!

I don't think it is a case of if Brown Hill would clear them Cobb cause they wouldn't... I think it's more a case of if they could sneek the two or three appeals past the BCA... I couldn't see the BCA letting all three guys go at once though

I remember Paul O'Neil from when I first started play seniors while still in juniors. He was still at Wendouree City then and lets just say he didn't treat any of the younger guys playing seniors in the club the best....

Used to deliberately bowl bouncers to them in the nets is what i hear. Anyway lets not waste time talking about old timers. My point is.... the mounties should look to the future and not let any players of Bambury's ilk into the club.

O'Neill could really bat but s**t he was an evil sort of bloke. I don't ever remember seeing him smile.

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association

Sorry Louis probably a bit harsh on the guy. Withdrawn. Never met him and will never play against him unless he gets dropped down about 3 or 4 grades. It's just the perception i have that may or may not be shared amongst other BCA sloggers from the crap rumours that get about this town. Not doubting his cricket abilities just worried he might rock the boat at the Mounties.

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association

how about all you blokes start talking about something interesting on this thread for once. all the rubbish about the 'great bambino' and hasbeens like paul o'neil isn't going to get any air time really. how about we talk about who is going to make the most runs this year or wickets or something to do with cricket in the coming year

Someone hit a nerve there thickedge? Very touchie. Well ok.
Most runs: S. Miller, A. Steenholdt (as long as Darley work on team running between wickets).
Most Wickets: B. Thompson (After last years final, proved he is the best in the comp), P. Appleton (thought id throw in a dark horse. Best spinner in my opinion).

i tipped steenholdt for most runs last season. class player. your on the money re running between the wickets tho, i think it was about 5 - 6 times last season he was run out which is mad.

as for thomson, how good was his bowling in that final. real class.@|

Ahhh, just back from a week on the Gold Coast - most runs Paul O'Neil - Most Wickets Chris Bambry

Hee hee hee, I kill me > no seriously most runs/ most wickets Nathan Yates, clear bthe best player in the comp according to his skipper.

Given Yates will win the batting/ bowling and EJ then next in line would be the more appropriate question - so 2nd most runs would be out of Josh White and the other opener from East what ever his name was / most wickets most likely Ash Ringin, with the pressure from the other end Thompson appears to put on.

So what's the latest, is Bambry to skipper the Sebas lads - was the rumor true about Brad Simpkin that he's leaving, what about that old quick from Wendouree City captaining North Cobber did that end up happening – or is Irving going back??? Some pretty crap rumour I know Cobber – but I reckon you seem like a bloke who know’s what’s going on.

That reminds me just been watching Footy Classified - any truth in the rumour the Pigeon is related to Caro.

I wouldn't think that Ryan would be trying to leave either. When I was talking to him about 2 or 3 weeks ago he was really keen to be having a leadership role at Brown Hill and was trying to recruit several players to the club. So unless something drastic has happened in the period since then I couldn't see him going.
saw knowlesy out on wkend and he confirmed all is not well at the hill, and has been in contact with 2 other clubs, north being one of them, said he was considering a move..........and i'm sure giblett would not play for brown hill if ryan was gone considering he was the one to get him there in first place

Oh for Christ sake. I've had enough of this crap.

I've started another chat page on BigCricket called BCA Pidgeon-Free Zone.

Feel free to have a yack there if you like.
There is an ignore button somewhere if you don't want to read my crap. Ok I mightn't know what the hell is going on but at least I join in with the topics and stay on topic.
I don't like to call people names on here or sledge others but I am just about to call you the biggest square on this forum. You take everything way too seriously. You try and tell people off all the time all because you don't agree with them. These rumours are just rumours at the moment. They aren't factual so I would like it if you stop acting like the biggest square in the forum and learnt to chill out a bit instead of dobbing on others who disagree with you all the time.

Must have been serious if he was stressed about cricket while getting thumped by a Creswick side full of nufs like you hey pidge?
