Re: City of Moorabbin Cricket Association 09/10

Just a reminder about the 'Mike Smith Cup' down at the Brick on Sunday. Really should be another cracking day, so hopefully we see alot of the BCF crew down there again.
The CMCA Sprint will be going ahead even though there's only been mild interest in it so far. Hopefully I'll have the full list of runners by tomorrow.

Re: City of Moorabbin Cricket Association 09/10

Evening All,

Hope everyone is safe and sound after the storms.

Bottsy nice PM that's all we need from someone on the spot.

Uncle Mick,

Very interesting PM with the purple & golds throwing in the towel Jimmy would not be impressed. Why are you talking about a 1 dayer as the fixture shows 2 days unless Barrack has decreed otherwise.

Clock

If the dog park people have a beef then get the long lost Saul back on the BCF to say so.I thought your explanation was self explanatory.

Ord,

My apologies for ripping you off the 3 points it was a transposition error taking it from one spreadsheet to the other.Anyway the correction sees you moves into 3 place and move Merl's mate the PM less Archie out of the top 4.

Not sure I would call the aqua blue experience just because he has hung around for a while! He is in the BRC as he is an ordinary conveyance who likes nothing better to report and has little rapport with the players.

Nice PM and can you enlighten us on B's and slim's bet?

Good luck for Sunday but unfortunately I won't be able to take my place in the sprint as i have interstate business to attend to.I may even bump into Jimmy at the airport!

Speaking of Jimmy please wake up mate out of that deep dream you have been having as there are no tribunal updates on the MJFWS as you predicted and you are only leaving yourself open for more derision from my good friend Archie!

I hope the rain stays away for Saturday and Sunday for Ord and the boys and look forward to the many recalctrants who will lodge belated PM's with their tips before Peter Peter tomorrow night.

until next time........... vino sipping poster......... Merlot

Re: City of Moorabbin Cricket Association 09/10

OB,
Well you humiliated the Machine last season which cost them a finals spot.
If there is ever a danger game for them, then this is it. Everyone is expecting them to win.Definetely a 12 point game for the Ommies.

Vinnie, my main man. I'm, not sure if we declared our interest in the sprint, but rest assured we've got a starter. You can start engraving his name too. You might want to confirm the spelling with Merl, but I believe Usain Bolt is how it should read.
I take it Dutchy is the man in question re: the report? And please indulge us with the details of the side bet between 'Slim' & 'B'.

Merl - the purple & golds had it in the bag when Jimmy stopped by. 0/99 I believe. As soon as he left so did they.
As for the 1 dayers, I'm anticipating we'll be rained off this weekend.

Re: City of Moorabbin Cricket Association 09/10

Boys struggled to contain Machine, bowled a little short apparently. Could have been chasing 350, but reined them in a fraction. Task made difficult by being two for overnight. Struggled with the stick, with only one man putting his hand up.

Thanks for that Mick, look forward in seeing him run as he's up against some speedsters.
Indeed it was Dutchy, and even an appeal last night feel upon death ears, which is a travesty considering the guy has played 250 games plus and never been warned let alone reported!
The side bet also involves the left arm quick, and will be a pretty expensive night for 'B' if he doesn't make over 20 as he'll have to shout the two of them free grog all night, and as you well and truly know UM both of them love their 'benders'.
Of course the reverse happens if he does make the runs.

Sprint runners so far are:

OMEGA: Steve Lay
MACKIE: James Clements
HIGHETT WEST: Nathan Mullenger
KINGSTON HEATH:Callum Rayner
BENTLEIGH UNITING: Dion Lucas
CHELT PARK: Jack Barclay

Waiting for confirmation on Brighton Union, West Bentleigh and Bentleigh ANA's runners.

Evening All,

As we tick down to peter peter Saul yet again,Brudes,Bottsy and Sugar have failed to lodge tips.

Did find a mole who advises that both Dutchy Holland ( omega ) and Matt Gamblin Elwood will both spend the next two weeks watching their team mates run around after receiving 1 match suspensions.Maybe the judge could advise why a highly respected and long serving player would fail in his appeal against suspension given his impeccable record and lack of reports or suspensions over 20 plus years!

Some good PM's but quite a few missing which does not please Merl.

I am shocked that bmf is not running in the sprint or any other jelly for that matter.

Good point Brudes,

It just shows the inconsistency of Barracks mob however the 3 wise monkeys this week were different to the 3 unwise monkies who sat on the barista case.

I still await comment from the judge but may need to be patient.

Adam if you read this put your tips in and send a scout to dog park to find Saul for us.

Re: City of Moorabbin Cricket Association 09/10

Howdy all,

Been a long few weeks at BDCC but things look better this week.
Shame I missed last round.. but u can't change the past!

Seems like Longy is settling a little with the 3 perennial finalists looking good. ESBC, Wests & Mackie r always good for a tip... The 3 at the bottom r starting to slip away. If The heath can stay a game off the field they will still b a chance to stay up. I reckon they will improve after xmas as they settle in the top grade. LePage & washups r safe to tip against. should b a good relegation fight.

In the middle union have covered little cotsa's loss so far & omega have bounced back the way u expect a good club too. The Bentleigh's r always in the mix..Elwood seem to sneak under the guard but have a lot of talent & Carnegie r bit unkown to me to b honest!

I'm thinking an ESBC v Wests GF..

I'd love to watch Little Costa's 1st ball this week

In Nuff nuff, the 1st XI's really should own this grade. i try to tip the 1st XI's when I can. There r 3 standout teams with Moorabbin West r bloody hard to beat. That group of 4 or 5 kids they have put 30 1's games into r improving nicely. Add Bott, Maca, Worker & the underrated Wallace (terrible headband tho) and they will win most games. AERSL have obviously got their heads on this year so will b dangerous but they r always beatable. Highett west have 2 of the best 6 players in the grade so can beat anyone but lack a lot of depth. Cluden have a great crop of kids & Baldock is very clever but their erratic batting make them dodgy if u bowl straight. Hampton were the obvious pick to go up & seem to b back on track, they should b the team to beat but u just never know what's coming next.

ESBC r very dissapointing as usual in this grade & the other 2nd XI's try hard & when the numbers r good in the 1's r dangerous, Union & Uniting in particular.

Good luck to all this week, hope we can cope with u this week Sugar..
Tips in capitals.

Saul

Where are you have you been? on one of PDog's benders. No tips no explanation and your team is going down the gurgler after a promising start.I think Uncle Mick's mob were unlucky to run into you in the first game as they would probably whip you in your current form.I see you led from the front but how long did it take to compile those 18 runs?I look forward to you doing a Lazarus and coming back to life on the BCF.

until next time........ vino sipping poster............... Merlot

Merl, yeah been a busy few weeks with friday's spent looking for players rather than posting! No benders but it would b nice if PDog did play for us occasionally!!! He is the wedding king..

Yep we r struggling a bit, numbers much better than last week & after schoolies we will b back to full strength so will improve quickly.

My 18 was bloody boring! Aydin bowled wide but I should've been more agressive. Bottsy bowled a great spell to our young LH opener...Kid did well to survive.. I just got out when I needed to speed things up! When I got out we need 191 off 40 with 7 wickets in hand & Bottsy had bowled 14 straight.. They didn't have too much bowling depth on paper so i thought we were still well placed.. Then Alec takes 6/20...

Clocker r u bitter we knocked u back? Love the amount of time u spend talking about us, lets hope we can do u like last year hey!

rain rain stay away...

Re: City of Moorabbin Cricket Association 09/10

Thanks BRC scribe another good piece.

Vinnie will no doubt fill us in on the big Mike Smith cup day once he sobers up in 3 days time.

Pdog hope the wedding and the free grog were to your liking!

Merl will again show some of you recalcitrants what a PM looks like.

Longy

ANA showed no mercy to fierce rival the penniless old wallet park and will despatch of them without a problem.

The beach boys another of Merl's favourites have a real chance down at white pointer park restricting the lakers to less than 200.

B's mob the premiership favourites have the runs on the board after another big contribution from our man B but will it be enough to stop slim's mob and win the bet?

The battle of the giants saw the millionaires reach 267 after loosing 8/32 to leave the door ajar for Moose and the boys who will back themselves to chase them down on the lightning fast Bailey Park although their chasing record is not good.

the BCF's own Brudes despite not submitting a PM yet, ripped through the Ants and will certainly add a point to Merl's tips when they get the runs easily.

BRC

Born again Saul has emerged from a rough trott to see the inconsistent ANA lodge 267 at dog park which could be chased down depending on whether Jeckell or Hyde turn up for either side.

The oasis less Bott's mob just continue on with motor mouth getting the wickets this week as the Omega bubble is about to burst!

Merl forsook his love child team again in the tips only to see them have the Burger Burbons reeling at 7 for 97.With some rain interuptions they maybe able to improve on that score next week or the fragile Cluden batting line up will be put to the sword to see if they can overcome maysie and co?

The RSL mob are just about gone after being the September champions and another old man river Manakis P will get the runs on his own!!

The highway mob with many former longy players now gracing the BRC put up a big score and will inflict a thrasing on the insipid purple and golds.

Uncle Mick what have you done allowing the jellies to set a bit. While I can still see a bit of a wobble if the hyphen can get going I can see your mobproviding them with another defeat from the jaws of victory or at least I am hoping so?

Sugar,

Did hear a bit of your highly rating program this morning with even Tommy sounding okay.It is a pity he was just getting it right and will need to vacate when the professional Jimmy returns next week I hope.

Was Barrack issuing some presidential orders for radio content again by dragging you off air for 5 minutes?

until next time..................... vino sipping poster........ Merlot

Re: City of Moorabbin Cricket Association 09/10

In the Kooka T20 cup today East Sandy were skittled for around 100 as Sringvale South.C.C from my league the DDCA passed them in the 15th over 3 down with R.Perrirea making 89.
So ESBC knocked out.

Re: City of Moorabbin Cricket Association 09/10

Merl - as he always does, Bails batted well against us. His partnership in the middle with the new fella from Qld was a smart innings. They stuck around and pushed the singles and later took full advantage of our inability to control the ball after the rain delay. So far we've chased 262 comfortably & 203 extremely comfortably on the HWCC #2 confines and are supremely confident that if we bat well, we'll get the runs. The Hyphen may be the barometer, but Corr was last year's highest run scorer in the BRC and he's surely due for a big one soon.
Special mention to UM who put on a catching clinic in 2nd slip.

Need to get your priorities right, I will work on an appropriate penalty. You could lessen the penaly by getting the judge to speak and letting us in on the Barrack phone call!

Uncle Mick,

The old wet ball piece of soap situation that for years the CMCA has not been able to get right.Merl believes it should be replaced on a regular basis as it is totally unfair on the bowling side.I see a couple snuck in to those vice like mits!

I can just see the head line Corr and the hyphen put on record partnership to leave the jellies still wobbling.

Any news on the big Mick Smith Cup day yet?
